Be it known that I, Cnmmns Donnmn. a citizen of Germany, residing at I riedrichs- -hafen-on-ihe-Bodensee, Germany, have invented certain new and useful Improvements Flying-Machine Constructions, of'
In monoplene or single-deck flying nus chines of all sorts, including flying hosts, the bearing plane err-wing has been mounted and fixed on the hull by means of e plurelit3 of rigid struts. However, this mode of fixetion cannot be made use of in every case and with all kinds of hulls. Moreover, it
entails s number of drawbacks, such as the difiiculqy resulting from the complicated connection between the plane and the several struts which letter also create a very considerable air resistance.
All these drawbacks are avoided, accord ing to the present invention, by connecting the wing or bearing plane with the hull by 'mesns of a single strut disposed in the planev bisecting the wing end in the vertical exiel plane of the hull. This strut is fixed to the win by being attached to or iiorining port of t e wing structure or frame and its end extendsthrou h an opening in the top wall of thehull into the interior thereof,
being fastened to the hull preferably in a detachable manner. In a preferred form of this strut its cro'ss-sectioneieree gradually increases from the point where it is connected or fixed to the hull, up to the point or points where it merges into the wing or hearing plane and the strut will then ofier the, outward appearance of a funnel. If desired, the end of the strut can be forked in order to properly distribute the joints, more particularly in the cm of guide surfaces,
