siding and collides with the train halted therein. In other instances, it has been found that the switch has not been fully thrown to open the main line which has resulted in disasters to the through train.
The object of this invention is to provide a simple, cheap and effective means controlled by the switch for making the telephone circuit at the point opposite the switch when the switch is thrown to open the main line and for breaking such circuit when the switch is thrown to open the siding.
The invention further resides in other fear tures of construction and in the combination and operative arrangement of elements to be hereinafter fully described, illustrated in the accompanying drawings and specifically pointed out in the appended claim.
In describing the invention in detail, reference is to be had to the accompanying drawings wherein like characters denote like or corresponding parts throughout the several views, and in which Figure 1 is a plan view showing a switch between the main and siding rails of arailway system and a telephone booth located at one side of the switch.

The wires from the telephone 6, in the present instance, lead directly to a circuit breaker 7 and from thence to'signal stations nearest the switch.
Ordinarily, when a freight train enters thesiding to make way for a through train the switch is thrown to open the main line, and the fiagman of the freight trainenters the booth and telephones to the signal station that his. train is in the siding and that the main line is free for the through train.
