To all whom it may concern Be it known that l, JAN KRznsiNsKI, a citizen of Poland, residing at Nanticoke, county of Luzerne, and State of Pennsylvania, have invented certain 'new and useful mprovements in Padlocks, of which the following is a specification.

This invention relates to keyless padlocks, and it is the principal object of the invention to provide such a lpadlock with an acoustic warning signal giving an alarm if any person not known the secret of openpg the lock should try to open it with a These and other objects of my invention will become more fully apparent as the description thereof proceeds, and will then be more specifically pointed out in the accompanying drawing in which:

The lock comprises a casing closed by a front wall 11 and rear Vwall 12, connected by a band or end wall 13 in the usual manner to form the casing.

The front and rear walls 11 and 12 carry suitable eyes 14 and 15 in which the ends of a pin 16 rest, to which one end of the shackle 17 is pivotally secured, the other, extended end of which enters the casing through a slot 18 in the upper part of its end wall 13. A horizontal bar 19 is slidingly guided through the upper part of the casing above a stationary partition 20 with-` in the same, and its ends extend out of the casing. A pin 21 on bar 19 within the casing near one end thereof limits the movements of said bar and prevents a completel withdrawal of the opposite end of the bar into the casing.

The rod or bar 19 is provided at its upper edge with a recess 21, and in its side wall with a vertical recess or depression 22 ending into an elongated part 23 forming a tongue 24 on the side face of bar 19 adapted to be engaged by a recess 24 in the side face of the extended end of shackle 17. A vertical plate 25 is secured with its upper end to the front edge of band or end wall 13 and'at its lower end to partition 20, and is provided with a square opening 26 allowing the passage of a transversal pin 27 eX- tending through the rear wall 12 and the front wall 11, and this pin carries at its front end outside of the casing 10, a knob 28. y Intermediate its ends the pin 27 has a recess 29 adapted to engage the upper edge of bar 19.

The outer end of drum shaft 42 is extended through rear plate 12 and carries a key Y49. The lock operates as follows: If any person not acquainted with the mechanism attempts to lopen the lock by winding y means of a key introduced through keyhole f 44, he will press finger 45 towards the inside which will compel its wedge face to depress bar 48 and release the pawl 35 allowing the lspring to operate the striker and an acoustic alarm will be given deterring the person from further attempts to open the lock.
