In combination with a system for circulating a cooling medium in heatinterchanging relation with an internal combustion engine, valve mechanism for regulating the circulationof cooling medium through said system, a pressure motor for operating said valve mechanism, a conduit in communication with said pressure motor, means for forcing a fluid through said conduit, valve mechanism for regulating the passage of fluid through said conduit, and thermosensitive mcans for operating said last-named valve ,mechanism, said last-named valve mechanism having a position of safety and said thermosensitive means being so con-' structed as to move said last-named .valve mechanism to said position of safety upon failure of the temperature control.
