IMPROVEMENT IN INSECT-GUNS.
Specification forming part 0t Letters Patent No. 148,069, dated March 3, 1874; application filed August 26, 1873.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that 1, WILLIAM KnNNIsr-I, of
the city of Philadelphia, in the State of Pennsylvania, have invented an Insect-Gun, of which the following is a specification:
The object of my invention is to expel, in a fine cloud, pyrethrum, or other powder used for the destruction of insects or other vermin, di-
. rectly from the bottle or flask in. which it is pressin g said bulb. The tube 13 is made of metal, bone, or other material suitable for the purpose, and is attached to the bulb A for the purposes of outlet and direction of the powder, and is held in position by the elastic neck D, into which it is inserted. 0, Figs. 1 and 2, shows the collar expanded and attached to the neck oi the bottle or flask, both the bottle or flask and tube being held in position by the elastic force of the material employed. The bulb A,-tl1e collar C, and the neck D are cast in one piece.
I do not claim as my invention the use of an elastic bulb for receiving and expelling powder and other substances; but
I claim- An insect-powder gun consisting of a collar, 0, an elastic bulb, A, and a dischargepipe, B, substantially of the form and for the purpose specified.
