APPARATUS FOR DISPENSIIFG LIQUIDS.
Application filedFebruary 11, ,922. Serial ,No. 535,759.
To all whom it mag concern:
1 Be t known that; 1,! QHN; NV.;MAoDoNA o, a; 811511-1611 of the; UmtedStates, residing. n
-Wilkinsburg, in the countyof Allegheny,
simple in construction and operation with all its parts accessible for inspection and cleaning, to theiend that the whole apparatus s-au easi iv be kept in asanitary condition.
The single figure drawing is avertical a section oi the'device her in described and il l mats-ates .its application affixed to the under side of an ordinary counter board by means of screws passing through a double flange formed on the upper part of a U-shaped frame 1, which depends from said counter board. Between the depending parts of said frame 1 is removably arranged a pressure cylinder 2 having a fixed lower head 3 and a removable upper head 4, the latter being centrally arranged between the depending parts of the frame 1 and beneath the lugs 5 formed on said frame, and acts when in place to hold the upper end of said pressure cylinder in a central position between the depending parts of said U-shape frame.
Within the pressure cylinder 2 is fitted a reciprocating piston 6 provided with a suitable packing, and having a central orifice 7 into which is permanently fitted the lower end of a hollow piston rod 8 having near its base and within the bod of said reciprocating piston 6 a valve 9. S aid piston rod passes centrally through the head 4 of said pressure cylinder 2 and extends upwardly and centrally through the frame 1 and the counter board to which said frame is attached, to which may be fitted the curved neck commonly'employed in apparatus of this class. Fitted to said hollow piston rod is a lug 10 to which is journaled one end of a lever 11 which works in bearings 12 formed by lugs 13 on one of the depending members of the frame 1. Into the fixed lower head 3 is centrally and exteriorly tted a removable tube lat provided at its upper end with a check valve 15 and at its lower end with a suitable fitting for connecting said tube to a supply pipe 16. A. circular plate 17 having .pentra orifi e. to. ccntormni t e ex erio of the, lower hea ts and t permi of adju mentof the'tube, 14 and check valve 15 is hinged tooneof the extremities of thede;
pending frame 1, and is provided with a sultable fitt ng 1,8. for readily connecting said plate with the other extremity of said frame l which plate whenadjusted to position acts to hold the lowerendof said pressure cylindeer in a central posltioirbetweeii the depending members of the frame 1, and support said cylinder up against the under side of the upper head 1.
In operating the said device, any suitable reservoir may be employed to holdthe liquid to be dispensed, into which the lower end of the supply pipe. 16 is immersed, and a downward motion then given to the lever 11 thereby raising the piston .8' and causing-liquid from the rcservoir to flowbylway of the supply pipe, up into the pressure'cylinder 2 and below the piston 6. Reverse motion is then given the lever 11 which depresses the piston 6 and forces the liquid in the cylinder 2 up through the hollow piston rod 8 and through such extension thereof as may be desired and into such receptacle as may be provided.
It will be seen that by releasing the screw 18 the supporting plate 17 may be dropped away from the lower end of the cylinder, thereby permitting said cylinder to be readily removed from the frame 1 and affording a means of conveniently reaching the interior parts of the device and keeping the entire apparatus in a highly sanitary condition.
While the foregoing description and drawing detail one form of construction for. the purpose of operating the improvement herein described, it is apparent that the construction shown could be modified, and therefore applicant desires to be not limited to the construction herein specifically described, but that consideration be given to the improvement herein pointed out.
Claims:
1. In a liquid dispensing device having an inverted U shaped frame adapted to be atfixed to and depend from the underside of a counter board, and a pressure cylinder removably fitted therein, a removable plate for supporting said pressure cylinder and means for attaching said plate to said U shaped frame.

4. In a liquid dispensing apparatus hav-,
ing a frame work adapted to be attached tothe underside of a counter board, and provided with a pressure cylinder arranged between depending members of said frame work; means, consisting of a hinged plate connecting the lower extremities of said frame work, for adjusting said pressure cylinder to position while said frame work is in place.
5. A device for the purpose stated afiixed to and depending from the under side of a counter board provided with a removable pressure cylinder, an exteriorly removable valve in the lower head of said cylinder, a hinged plate for supporting said cylinder and means for adjusting said plate to position.
6. In a liquid dispensing apparatus a pressure cylinder supported within a U shaped frame affixed to and depending from the under side of a counter board provided with a removable check valve in the lower head thereof, a plate for holding said cylinder in position, means for adjusting said plate, and a removable hollow tube for supporting said check valve fitted into said lower head and adapted to be adjusted while the said pressure cylinder and its supporting plate are in place.
7. In a liquid dispensing apparatus adapted to be affixed to and depend from the under side of a counter board having a pressure cylinder, a U shaped frame for supporting the same, a reciprocating piston fitted within said cylinder, a hollow piston rod connecting With said piston, a lever for operating said piston rod, a valve in the lower head of said cylinder, a supporting plate for holding said cylinder between the depending members of said U shaped frame and means for adjusting said valve and supporting plate.
