lilly invention relates to a device const-ituting a. signal adapted to be attached to the users Wearing apparel or placed in any conspicuous location in ollice, home, or elsewhere whenever there is anything important to be remembered or performed. lfVhen the device has functioned as a reminder the device may be closed or restored to the pocket or otherwise inconspicuously carried on the person.

The general object of my invention is to L provide an eilective device ol the indicated character el'hcient for its purpose of actively imparting to the owner recoil tion of any intended action. f

A further object is to iinpel performance of any intended action.

Reference is to be had to the accompanying drawings forming a part of this specilication, it being understood that the drawings are merely illustrative of one example oi the invention.

ln carrying out my invention in practice a case is provided consisting ot' a back .l0

@n the back or" the described case is a suitable means to fasten the device to a coa-t lapel or other portion bf the garment. The fastening means may include a. pin or a clip, or both. ln the illustrated example l have shown a clip lo integral with the back and disposed behind the latter. integral with the lower edge of the clip is a pin l? adapted to be engaged beneath a keeper 18. The back may have a. spur 19 stamped rear- T-.vardly and the clip lG may have an opposed spur or tongue 20 stamped forwardly adjacent to the spur i9 so that the clip may be caused to positively hold the device on the lapel, for example. 0r, if desired, the pin l? alone may be utilized as the fastening means. The clip i6 in addition may act as a prop, or as an easel support for the case for standing it on a table or on a desk if the reminder is wished to be kept on the desk instead of carrying it on the person. rlhe front il, when the device is stood on the table or desk. may be opened and allowed to lie open on the table or desk to display a written matter inscribed or placed on the inner face ot said iront, the lowered iront thus acting as a base for the back l() and coacting with the clip 16 to support the device in open position.

ln practice the device at the exterior or interior or both, may bear a display signal or symbol; for example, Remind me, as illustrated at ll, Figures l and 2.

The interior of back or front, or both, in practice may have a Celluloid or other suitable writing surface, as illustrated at 2l. wnereon the intended action may be rindicated, but reliance need not be placed in this feat-ure, due to the tact that the device itsel by its conspicuous presence alone and noticed by the owner or pointed out to him by friends or otlice assistants, or stared at by strangers, is sutlicient in itself for his recollection or 'further reference to memoranda.

l would state in conclusion that while the illustrated example constitutes a practical embodiment of'my invention, l do not limit myself strictly to the exact detailsherein illustrated, since, manifestly, the same can be considerably varied without departure from the spirit of the invention as dened in the appended claims.

Having thus described my invention, I claim:

l. A reminder device comprisinga casing composed of a front and a hack hinged t0- gether at one end, a removable means at the opposite end for retaining the Jfront and the hack closed, a clip on said hack, and opposed spurs projecting from the clip and the back for retaining the device on the edge of a arinent.

2. reminder device comprising a casing composed of a 'front and a hack hinged together at one ende a clip on said hack, said clip merging into a fastening pin turned upwardly and a keeper pressed out of the ciip adjacent its fixed end for receiving the front end of said fastening pin.

3. A reminder device having a front and hack hinged together at the lovver ends thereof, a clip secured to said back and having a tree end terminating in a plane adj acent the piane of said hinged lower ends,

vsaid ciip adapted to he attached to a garment or to constitute a prop when the device is ysteed upon a support with said hinged ends ioivermost, and the said front when lowered adapted to lie on said support to constitute a hase for the back and to coact with said prop in sustaining the device.
