Be it'known that I, A'rHnRroN D. CoN- vnnsn, a citizen of the United States, and resident of Vinchendon, Massachusetts, have invent-ed certain new and useful Improve. ments in Dancing Dolls, of which the foltached from the phonograph when a changev of record is desired.

These and other objects are accomplished by providing a figure havinga head, body and limbs independently movable, said body having both a rotative and an up and down movement. The motive power is convenient 1y shown as derived from the record turn table, and through the medium of an eccentrically mounted rod and an irregular cam actuates the head and body with its attached limbs respectively.

Eccentrically carried by the friction wheel is a rod 16, passing upwardly through ahole 17 in frame 10 and engaging the head, conveniently shown as by means of a screw eye. 18.

Suitably attached to rod 16 as at 19 is a thread 20 which passes through the head withinpassage '21, and is attached to a memher 22 uniting the arms 28 0f the figure. These arms are loosely attached to the body portion in any suitablemanner which will allow. a certain amount of play. A skirt or dress 26 may be placed upon 0 the figure just above pin 7 which will conceal'the mechanism and give a more realistic appearance to the doll.

In combination a basemember having a phonograph center pin engaging portion and bracing means; a friction wheel aniso naled in a vertical plane to one side of such engaging portion, a figure toy having a body mounted on said base member to have oscillatory movement about a vertical axis, said body having a head mounted to have independent oscillatory movement and having movable arms, means operated by the toy body supported by said base member to have oscillatory movement about a vertical axis, a head for'said body mounted to have independent oscillatory movement, arms carried by said body to have up and down movement and means operated from' said friction Wheel for imparting independent oscillating movement to said body and head, and up and down movement to said arms.

In combination, a base member having a friction wheel adapted to be rotated by a phonograph turn table disc, a figure toy body supported by said base member to have a vertical and an oscillatory movement about a vertical axis, a head for said body mounted to have independent oscillatory movement, arms carried by said body to have up and down movement and means operated from said friction wheel for imparting vertical and oscillatory movement to said body and independent oscillatory movement to said head, and up and down movement to said arms.

In combination, a base member having a friction wheel adapted to be rotated by a phonograph disc or turn table, a figure toy body carried by said base to have vertical and oscillatory movement about a vertical axis, a cam carried by said friction wheel, a bell crank lever having one arm fulcrumed to said base and the other arm pivotally connected to said body by a universal joint and having an intermediate portion cooperating with said cam.

In'combination, a base member having a friction wheel adapted to be rotated by a phonograph disc or turn table, a figure toy body carried by said base to have vertical movement and also oscillatory movement about a vertical axis, a head for said body mounted to have independent oscillatory movement, a cam carried by said fric' tion wheel, a bell crank lever having one arm fulcrumed to said base and the other arm pivotally connected to said body and having an intermediate portion cooperating with said cam, and a rod eccentrically pivoted to said friction wheel at one end and having a sliding pivotal connection with said head at the other end and having its intermediate portion slidingly pivoted in a fixed bearin member carried by said base.

In combination, a base member, a driving wheel journaled thereon, a figure toy supported from said base member and having movable arms and a head capable of oscillating about a vertical axis, said head having a perforated member at the rear thereof and a passage through the head, and a rod having one end pivoted eccentrically to said driving wheel and its other end portion engaging said perforated member, and its intermediate portion slidingly fulcrumed on a fixed member carried by said base, and a flexible element having one end secured to said rod and the other end passing through the passage in the figure head and connected with the arms.
