IMPROVEMENT IN WHEEL-FLOWS.

Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 147,063, dated Febluary 3, 1874; application filed August 30, 1873.

To all whom 'it may concern:

Be it known that I, Rev. SOLOMON NEFF, of Cuba, in the county of Fulton and State of illinois, have invented a new and Improved a plan view. Fig. 3

A A are wheels revolving on short axles B D, through whose inner ends are vertical slots, that receive the arms of a frame, C, on which is supported a plow-frame, D E. To frame C is attached a horizontal extension, having a cross-bolt, I, to which plow-frame D E is loosely pivoted, so as to have free lateral play. rIhe extension F F is connected with the upper part of fra-me O by bra-ces Gr Gr, while to the lower part its bent ends may be riveted or Otherwise fastened. The plow-frame is thus held securely in a horizontal position at any desired depth, the vertical arms of frame C being. adjustable in slots of short axles B, and held by wedges at any height. The tongue K is loosely pivoted on the cross-bolt I, so as to move freely in a lateral direction, while it also turns on a vertical pivot-bolt in the horizontalclevis 1l, adjustable in different holes, according to thc furrow-width which is intended to be out. Thus the tongue not only determines by its position the width of furrow-slice, but also preserves its freedom of lateral motion.

Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-

1. The frame C, with forwardly-projecting arms F and braces G, vertically adjustable through slots in the short axles B, in combination with the plow-beams D, carried upon the axle-frame, and pivoted to the front projecting arms F, all as and for the purpose dcscribed.

2.. The combination, with tongue K, of clevis H, having several perforations, and the crossbolt of extension F F, to which the tongue is loosely connected by au eyebolt, and adjusta ble -to regulate the width of cut, in the manner set forth.
