2. In an appliance tor truing'jewel-settings, a non-rotative barrel having Ya" lengitudinal bore, in combinationwitha vyielding plunger sliding in the bore of the barrel and having a pivot adapted to enter the hole f in a jewel, to permit rotation of the jewel and its setting around said pivot, and a cutter carried by the non-rotative barrel and engageable with the circumference of the jewel setting. Y
3. Inan appliance for truing jewel-settings, a non-rotative barrel having a longitudinal bore, in combination with a reversible yielding plunger slidable in the bore of the barrel and having at each end a pivot adapted to enter the hole in a jewel, to permit the jewel and its setting to rotate around either pivot of said plunger. 4. In an appliance for truing jewel-settings, in combination with a non-rotative barrel having a longitudinal bore; a coiled spring in the bore of the barrel; a follower free to slide in the bore of the barrel andV movable outwardly by said spring; and an inwardly sliding plunger engaging said follower to compress said spring. v
5. In an appliance for truing jewel-settings, in combination with va non-rotative and slightly oscillative barrel having a longitudinal bore; a yielding plunger havinga pivot in line with the axis of the bore of the barrel and adapted to enter the hole in a jewel; and yielding' means normally effective to maintain horizontally of Ythe barrel. v
6. In an appliance for truing jewel-settings, the combination of a yoke having an barrel havingfa longitudinal bore; a spring-- pressed plunger slidable in the bore ofthe barrel and having terminalV` pivots adapted to enter the hole in a jewel; a tool-holder capable of radial adjustment relatively toV the axis of the barrel; and acutting tool capablefof radial and longitudinal adjust ment relatively to the outwardly extendedpivot of the plunger.
8. A tool for truing the exterior of jewelsettings concentric tothe hole in the jewel and comprising a floating member adapted i to be carried bythe tail stock of a lathe, a
centering device adapted to enter the hole in a jewel and carried by the loatingmenb ber, and a cutter carried by said floating member and adaptedy to operate on the circumference of a jewel setting.
