Beit known that I, JOHN VISTINE, a citi-v Zen of the United States of America, residing at Cicero, in the county of Cook and State of Illinois, have invented certain new and useful lmprovements in Vegetable Cutters, of which the following is Va specication.

This invention relates to certain new and useful improvements in vegetable cutters and has for its primary object toprovide a convenient support such as atable top, the cutter and operating mechanism therefor being supported onthe bracket arm.

'With the above and otherobjects in view as the nature of the invention is better understood, the same consists of the novel v form, combination and arrangement of parts hereinafter more fully described, shown in the accompanying drawing and claimed.

Referring more in detail to the accom` panying drawing, there is illustrated a vegetable cutter including a horizontal bracket 1 bifurcated at one end as at 2 to enclose a Y table top or other support 3 during mount- 1923. seri-a1A No. 638,313.

'lower casing section 8 encloses -at its upper end, the lower end of the upper casing section 6 and is supported by an arm 9 anchored as at 10 to the bracket 1, the upper casing section 6 being closedas at 11 while the lower casing section 8 is open at its vlower end as shown in Fig. '3.

The outer upper endof the arcuate eXtension 5 carries an extension arm 12 overlying the upper closed-end 11 ofthefcasing section 6 andV terminates axially thereof within 'a bearing 13, a corresponding arm le eX-v tending from the lower vend of the extension 5 and terminating in a bearing 15 axially of the casing.

A vertical shaft 16 is journaled in the bearings 13 and'15'of the extension arms 12 and 14, the upper end of the shaft 16 carrying a fixed pinion 17 meshing with a beveled gear 18 that is journaled in the outer end 19 of an arcuate arm 20 projecting upwardly `from the bracket 1 and overlying the cutter casing, the gear 18 carrying a handle 21 to effect rotation thereof.

A disk-22 is secured to the lower end of the shaft 16 belowthe arm 14, the disk being provided with diametrically opposite radial slots 23 over which the` edges of cutting blades 24 extend.

Vegetables are introduced into the upper casing section 6 through the opening affordedby the hinged cover section 11a and upon rotating the shaft 16 through the meshing gears 17 and 18, the disk 22 is rotated for moving the vegetables into engagement with the arm 14', the cutter blades 24 successively passing the arm 14 at a point beneath the same for slicing or cutting the vegetables that fall through the slotted openings 23.

While there .is herein shown and described the preferred embodiment of the present invention, it is nevertheless to be understood that minor changes may be made therein without departing from the spirit and scope of thel invention as claimed. Y
