IMPROVEMENT IN KITCHEN-SAFES.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 146,390, dated January 13, 1874; application filed November 15, 1873.
` specification Our invention relates to an improvement in kitchensafes of the class in Which spicedrawers, dough kneading boards, and ioursifters are arranged conveniently for use.
In the drawing, which shows a perspective view of my improved safe, E E E designate spicedrawers, and H a space provided with shelves, and closed by a hinged door, I. F is a bracket or shelf for supporting a kneading roller and other articles. Gis a hinged doughkneading board, which is supported by hinged bars G', having slots b in their free ends, through Which pass screw-bolts that clamp them against the sides of the safe. These bars serve to adjust the board G at various angles to the front of the safe, thereby adapting it for convenient use. To the above-described parts We make no claim.
We provide the top of the safe A with a hinged lid, B, which forms the cover ofthe conical hopper C. Thelatteris designed to be a permanent receptacle for Hour or meal, and has a sieve or sifter, D, applied or attached to its apex in such a manner as to be readily detached for cleaning, Snc. Within the sifter is a rotary stirrer, Whose shaft is provided with a cranlchandle, D', outside the safe. To control the descent of iiour or meal into the sifter, We employ a slide, et, which forms the true bottom ofthe hopper.
