Be it known that l, Envn C. rrnronrnin, a citizen of the United States, ani resident of San Jose, in the county ot Santa @lara and State of California, have invented a certain new and useful improvement in Electric Heaters, ot which the following is a specilication.
My invention relates particularly to an electric heater adapted to be used in combination with pleat-ing irons such as are used in laundries.
It is an object of my invention to provide a heater ot the character indicated which can be plugged into the regular electric light systems and which is so constructed as to use a minimum amount of current consumption for the heat required. Also the device is so constructed as to be easy to mamita@n ture, simple in operation, and serve as a stand and holder tor the pleating irons when not being used.
It is also an object to provide a. heater which will prevent the over heating of the irons and the consequent scorching oithe materials to be pleated.
In the drawing Figure l is a front elevation of the heater.
Figure 2 is a side elevation ot the same showing the Ventilating oriiices as well as a pleating iron in place on the iron holder.
Figure 3 is a` plan view of the heater.
Figure 4 is a cross-section on line 4 of Figure 2 showing a pleating iron in position for heating.
Referring more particularly to the drawings, I show a sheet metal container having two sides as 1-2, a bottom and top as Stil and the front and back as 5-6 respectively. The whole being formed as shown and mounted upon supporting members 7.
Sides l-2 have suitable orifices as 99-9-9 and openings l0-l0 which as ventilators for the heating elements llmllhll. Said heating elements are formed of insulating and heat resisting inaterial such as porcelaim with collars 12-12-12 extending outwardly therefrom at one end. The inner openings 13-13-13 of said heating elements are of su'Hicient size as to allow the entrance oiz the largest size pleating irons used as shown at lt. l-leatN ing elements llwll-ll are inserted through suitable openings in the front side 5, the collars l2-l2`lf2 holding the same in position. These elements are lwound with suitable resis'n ice wire as l5 and are connected in series a; shown, the two leads 16-17 being connected to standard plug terminals lon-i9 which are insulated from and pass through suitable openings in the baci; d ot said container.
