To all whom it may concern:
Be itknown that I, EDMUND GARsIDE, subject of the King of Great Britain and Ireland, residing at Skerne Works, Darlington, in the county of Durham, England, have invented new and useful Improvements in and Relating to Divided Driving Pulleys and the like of Sheet-Metal Construction, of
which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to improvements in divided driving pulleys and the like of sheet metal construction and has for its object the provision of means whereby great strength, light weight and low prime cost are obtained.
The invention consists in the formation of the whole of the arms ofone half of a pulley or the like from a single sheet of metal, a half bush for association with said arms, sheet metal means involving lugs for clamp; ing bolts attached to said half bush and means for attaching the sheet metal means to the arms element in conjunction with a half rim element and means for attaching the outer ends of the arms thereto.

The construction of one half of a driving pulley having six arms will first be described but it is obvious that many modifications thereof may be made without departing from the spirit of th invention.

On each side of the element comprising the arms A a segmental I plate C, Figs. 11 and 12, is attached by rivets a", which pass through the holes 0' in the plate C and a in the arms A, the segmental plates 0 having a part 0 thereof removed to accommodat the parts of the half bush B which protrude therethrough. Each of the segmentalplates C are formed with ridges or ribs 0 adapted to engage with the ribs or of the arms A and raised portions 0 for purposes hereinafter to be described. In a divided driving pulley as claimed in claim h the formation of a boss element from blank having two pairs of oppositely disposed lugs and an elongated hole the said hole being flanged and the said lugs being curled to form bosses, the element thus formed being divided to form two similar parts.
