In Figs. 6 to 9 inclusive, I have shown the door holding member. of different construction designated by the numeral formed from a channel ring-section thereby producing flanges 26 and 27 which include the outer or inner faces respectively of the receptacle plate 2 when said door holding member is placed in the outlet opening 3, said outlet opening in this case not having the groove 4 above referred to. The door 10 with its extension 11 carrying the pintle 8 fits within the door holding member and i .the projectingends of the pintle enter the channel of the door holding memberat the spaced ends thereof wherein they are held by the crimping of the flanges of the door holding member about the projecting ends of the pintle as plainly shown in Fig.7. To prevent the door swinging inward be yond the holding member I form a stop 28 by partially cutting a section of the metal from the inner flange 27 and .bending the same back until it projects into the door opening formed within the door holding member as shown in Fig. 7 I
In use the plate may be installed in any position and the door positioned to swing open in any desired direction by rotating the door holding member the proper distance within the outlet opening where it will remain due to the friction between said holding member and the plate in which it is mounted.
Of course I do not Wish to be limited to the exact detailsof construction as herein shown as these maybe varied within the limits of the appended claims without :departing from the spirit of my invention.
Having thus fully described my inven tion, what I claim as new and useful is 1. A receptacle plate for electrical -out lets comprising a plate having an outlet opening and provided with a circumferential V-shaped groove, a door holding member, having its edge rotatably mounted in .sa1d groove and a door hinged to said holding member.
= 2. In a device of the character stated, a
metal door holding member having a central open ng and its ends belng spaced apart, a
door stop at the inner edge of said member formed byswaging a portion of the ,metal therefrom, the endsof said member having aligning grooves, a door for closing, the
opening in said member, said door having a groove therein, a pintle in said grooves and means for attaching the pintle to the parts.
3. In a device of the character stated, a plate having an outlet opening the'edge of said plate about said opening having a V- shaped circumferential groove therein, an
arcuate door holding member, the edges of Y which are beveled for registration with the V shaped groove and a door hinged to said member. 0
