As an article of manufacture, a resilient heel lift provided on its attaching face, when said lift is in normal position, with an arch extending around the central part of the lift., adapted to be flattened when the lift is in working position, and a pretuberance extending from the centrall part of tbe attaching face of the lift and adapted to be con'ipressed when the lift is attached to a shoe heel.

9. A rubber heel having on its attaching face a depression following the entire peripheryof the heel and having opposite thereto in the tread surface a ridge surrounding acentral depression` the heel having nail holes in the median line of the depression and ridge.
