IMPROVEMENT IN MEDICAL COMPOUNDS.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent, No. 145,002, dated November 25, 1873; application filed May 13, 1873.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, GEORGE 1*. lVlUNRO, of Leon, in the county of Decatur and State of Iowa, have invented a new and useful Medical Compound, of-which the following is a full, clear, and exact description:
This invention relates to that class of med-. ical compounds which are administered in the form of vapor through the pores of the body of the patient; and it consists of certain ingredients, compounded in the manner and the proportions substantially as hereinafter more fully set forth.
To enable others to avail themselves of the benefits of my compound I will proceed to describe it.
The ingredients used in forming my compound and their respective proportions are substantially as follows: One (1) part of cinchona; one (1) art of san 'uinar' none-fourth (i) part of nit-er; two (2) parts of sulphur; oneeighth (3;) part of leptandrin and podophyllin;
one-eighth part of bromide of potassium and morphia; 'lildens extracts, in such proportions as the malady of the patient may require.
Some of the distinguishing qualities of my compound may be named as follows: A11 equalizer for the circulation of the blood, a perfect tonic, and producing perspiration, and eliminating all diseased and vitiated matter through the pores.
