IMPROVEMENT IN WRITING-TABLETS.
Specification formingpart of Letters Patent No. 144,950, dated Noveml or 25, 1873; application filed October 3, 1873.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, O. N. BROWN, of Providence, in the county of Providence and in the State of Rhode Island, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Writing-Tablets; and dohereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description thereof, reference being had to the accompanying drawin gs and to the letters of reference marked thereon, making a part of this specification.
The nature of my invention consists in ribs raised or otherwise formed on or attached to the leaves of an erasible tablet for the purpose of obviating the erasure of the writing by rubbing or friction of written surfaces, as will be hereinafter more fully set forth.
' In order to enable others skilled in the art to which my invention appertains to make and use the same, I will now proceed to describe its construction and operation, referring to the annexed drawing, in which- Figure 1 is a view of an ordinary erasible tablet embodying my invention, and Fig. 2 is a longitudinal section through one of the leaves of the same.

Tablets made of thick paper, pasteboard, or
other similar material, may be rolled between corrugated rollers or stamped between pressblocks, so as to form the raised ribs on the surface of the leaves.
Having thus fully described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
An erasive tablet provided with the ribs B B, raised on or attached to the leaves thereof, substantially as and for the purposes herein set forth.
