DISINFECTOR- ATTACHMENX FOE?) THE rri'Usrrri-raf AND THE LIKE. 1
Application 'fileri November 20, 1:322. Serial No. 601,980..
To all whom it may concern.
Be it known that-I, REGI ALD Vimnnznn FARNHAM, a subject 0]": the King of the Jnited Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, and residing at Eikelmorlie, Ayrshire, Scotland, have invented a certain new and useful Improvement in'Disinfector Attachment for the vFlushing Arrangements of chamber, the lever being adapted to operate i avalve controlling. the delivery of (llSlllfBC-.
tant from a container to the mixing chamber and serving to divert part of the main flush ing stream into'said chamber.
The employment of a lever common to the flushing pipe and the mixing chamber renders it necessary to arrange the disinfector attachment contiguous to the flushing pipe.
lever, so that, in the event of there being no accornn'iodation for the attachmentnext to the flushing pipe, the attachment may be,
conveniently located remote from the pipe.
In the accompanying drawing, Fig. 1 is a vertical section and 2 a plan. The disinteotor attachement shown includes a containerl for disinfectant and a attachment to a Wall for example by screws ienetratin 111 s 3. For ermittin a uantity of disinfectant to pass from said container to said chamber there is titted to the container a valve device comprising a cone 4 having an outlet 5 and a cone 6 nesting with the cone 4: and movable relatively thereto, so as, when raised, to discharge the disinfectant trapped in the space between the cones. A scoop 7 connected by a conduit 8 to the chamber 2- projecting into the main flushing pipe 9 serves to divert part of the main flushing stream; into the chamber 2..
In the conduit line between the scoop 7 and the inter or of the chamber 2 there is disposed an inletand discharge-controlling member comprising 2.1313610 having; an unrestricted delivery opening 11 at a high level level, the opening 11 permitting rapid in rush of Water nto s'ald chamber during the flushing operation and the outlet 152 permit- 1 v ting restricted discharge from said chain-.x
her through the conduit 8 and through the scoop 7 of admixed disinfectantand water I after the flushing operation; A float 1 3 conannem/rnnrs onwn'rnn cnosnrs. f
- and a restricted-drain outlet 12' at. a low nected by a rod '14 tojthe cone 8 is adapted to 1 actuate said valve device once ior'every 1n rush of water into the chamber The contents of the scoop are drained byxa perforation 15.
I claim v 1. Disinfect'or attachment for the fihshing arrangements of Water closets and the like comprising a container for disintectant,
a mixing chamber, a valve device for permitber interposed 'betiveen'said scoop. and said chamber for permitting mrush of Water into The present vinvention dispenses with the' a float adapted to actuate said valve device once .forflevery lnrush of Water into said a chamber. p .2. D sinfector attachment .for the flushing arrangements of ater closets and the like comprising, a container for disinfectant, a 1111 King chamber, a valve devicefor permitting a quantity of disinfectant to pass "from said. container-to said chamber, a scoop connected to said chamber and projecting intothe path of the main flushing stream so to divert part of said stream into said chamher, a pipe communicating with the scoop and having an unrestricted delivery opening located at a high level, and a restricted drain outlet at a low level in said chamber, 1 for permitting unrestricted inrush' of wateri into said chamber during theflushing oper-- ation v and; restricted discharge "from said chamber through said scoop of admixed dis; ln'fectan't and water after the flushing operation, and a float adapted to actuate said valve device once for every inrnsh of Water into said chamber.
3. Disinfector attachment for the flushingg; pipes of water closets and the like comprising a container for disinfectant, a mixing chambena valve device forpermitting a quantity of disinfectant to pass from said container to said chamber, a scoop projecting into the main flushing pipe, a conduit connecting said scoop with said mixing chamber so as to conduct the part of the main flushing stream intercepted by the scoop into said chamber, an inlet and dischuge-control]ing member interposed between said scoop and said chamber for permitting inrush of water into said chamber during the finshingoperation and restricted discharge from said chamber through said scoop of admixed disinfectant and Water after the flushing operation, and a float adapted to actuate said Valve device once for every inrnsh of Water into said chamber:
In testimony whereof I have signed my name to this specification in the presence of two subscribing witnesses- REGINALD VZANDEZEE F.. RNI!Aili. \Yitnesses Isiinm, ROLLQ Anne EBQVVATT.
