Be it known that I, liiicimnn A. Hiumins, v a citizen of the United States, and resident of Racine, in the county of Racine end State 5 of Wiscensin, have invented certain and useful imprevements in Fiber Sheath ings; and I do hereby decuie that the following is a full, clear, rind exact ciesci'iptii'in thereof.

My invention reistes to iibez sheathing which is adapted to he used either on the inside 0i outside of buiidings I The general object the invention is to provide a sheathing-cf this kind, t0 which may be applied a coating of plaster or other dcstic material, and which is picvided with dead 21nspsces, by which an effective heutv in ilati-ic is secured.

ing. the sheathing comprises a sheet 5 of heavy flat paper, hzwlng' a, corrugated sheet 6 secured thereto in the usual manner. A series of stifi reinforcing WiIBS 7 are then. ieid across the sheet substantially perpendicular to the direction o'f the cerrugetions, and it second series of wires 8 are laid diagonally, and st each peintof intersection with Wires 7, a loop 10 formed (which passes thru the sheets of paper and around the Wire 7, thus providing a substantial and rigid structure.

The corrugated side of the paper is adeptcd in be filled with plaster, cement, 01 other plastic material, and this material may be applied the strips hefcre they are laid, thus forming an article which may take the piece of piaster-beard, or coating may be applied after the strips are laid on the building. The paper, before being, inanufee-tuned iiiwO sheathing, is impregnated with tar or OtiIGT TDOiSiHZQ proof matei'iei, and preferably the cci'i'ugeted strip is formed, ,cs shcwn, with the larger corrugations 12 forming eir spaces between the two strips, and the smeiiei' corrugations 13 being in dove-mil shape, so as to provide a substantial key to retain the coating of plaster 11.

It will be understood that the precise structure shown is merely illustrative, and

that other fastening means may be substituted for the icops 10, if desired. Also the plaster and corrugations may be dupiicated en the other side of the fiat sheet 5', in order to provide additional heat and moisture insulation.

It will therefore be understood that the invention is not limited to the specific struer tui'e shown, but includes all modifications which fell within the scepeof the appended claim.

As an article of manufacture, a sheathing comprising a sheet of paper composed of a layer of fiat paper and a layer of corrugated paper secured tegether ,so as to provide air spaces therehetween, and impregnated with Waterproofing material, 1 reinforcing wires adjacent the corrugated surface and extending tmnsi 'erseiy to the corrugations thereof 35 and other reinforcing Wires extending 0biiqueiy and looped over said transversely ex--' tending Wires and passing through both ieyei's of paper.
