PRESSURE FASTENER.
Application filed March 21, 1921. Serial No. 454,131.
To all whom it may concern 6 Be it known that I, IGNAZ Poo, a sub]ect of the Emperor of Austria, residing at lVrschowitz, near Prague, in the Empire of Austria, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Pressure Fasteners (for which i have filed applications in Austria on June 11, 1914-, application pending; in France on June 15, 1914c, Patent No. 453,520; and in Germany on June 11, 1914:, Patent No. 290,542), of which the following is a specification.
The present invention relates to the so called patent fasteners for dresses, 1. e.
fasteners in which two members engage with one another on pressure with a certain amount of spring action 111 such manner that normally they remain in engagement but cured to the material or to braids, ribbons, or
bands thereon by sewing, and for this purpose, the disc-lilre portion of the fastener is irovided with sewing perforations.
11 order to sew the fastener on to the material as firmly and securely as possible, it is desirable to provide as many perforations as possible on the disc within the limits imposed by the size of the disc portion of the fastener. Obviously however, the number of such perforations is limited and consequently it hasbeen found that with fasteners of small size, it is not possible to provide sufficient perforations as serve for a permanent and secure fastening.
According to. the present invention this disadvantage is removed by utilizing the spaces between the perforations, by making fresh sewing places in the form of cut-outs, i. ,e. round the periphery of the disc, portions are removed by an inward cut; these marginal cut-outs serve in place of additional perforations and render it possible to sew on the fastener securely.
In the accompanying drawings, Figures 1, 2 and 3 represent cross sections, bottom plan and top plan of the recessed member of the fastener while Figures 4 and 5 repre sent the head member of the fastener in plan and cross section. I
The recessed member consists of a disc at with a dome shaped portion 6 and a spring 0 to retain the head 9 of thehead member which projects from the disc f in known manner.
According to the invention, marginal cutouts e and i are provided to supplement the sewing perforations d and h in the respective members. l declare that what I claim is 2-- 1. A pressure fastener member of the type V ginal cut-outs between the perforations.
In witness whereof, I have hereunto signed my name this 23d day of September, 1915, in the presence of two subscribing witnesses.
