The annular burner 1 is orovided with a vertically disposed flange l l over which is arranged the lower edge of an outer casing 15 which is secured thereto as clearly shown in Fig. 1, and has upper edge turned down over an annular flange 16 of a ring to which is provided with integral flues l7 tor inating in a central drum 18. The ring is mounted on an inwardly projecting annular head 15 formed on the casing 15 adjacent its upper edge and forming means for supporting the parts carried by the ring and to provide ,atight joint between the ring and cas' lllounted on the turned over portion'ol the outer casing is a torami ated cap l9 having an annular flange 20 rojecting cue the outer casing as clearly shown in Fig. 1.
Mounted on the supply pipes 3 of the burner l is a circular metal lining 21 which is spaced from the burner 1 in order to produce an annular air inlet 22 so as to give the 311131161 a free supply oi air in order to oltain the proper combustion.
Arranged within the circular lining 21 is an inner casing 23, the upper edge ofwhich secured to the depending annular flange 2dof a ring which is provided with an annu ar \"Qllilllilllll' disposed flange 26 carrying an inner casing section 27, the upper edge of which is secured to an annular we 28 formed integral with the flue sec- 17 as clearly shown in l ig. 1
The inner and outer casings 15' and 23 form an annular combustion chamber 29 which communicates with the reduced portion of the chamber formed bythe casings 15 and 27 which chamber communicates with the tines 1? through which the prod nets of combustion pass into the drum 18 from which they are conveyed by a pipe 30 extending downwardly through the central air chamber.
The pipe section 30 has an elbow 31 connected thereto which in turn is connected to a pipe 82 extending through a ring 33 for conveying the products of combustion to a chimney flue in the ordinary manner, and it will be seen by this construction I obtain a down-draft tor the products of combustion so that all of the heat units will be absorbed by the central volume of air passing through the stove before they escape to the. chimney.
The burner 1 is provided with a plurality of apertures 34 which are drilled obliquely in order to direct the flame against the lining 21 which absorbs the he: t so aS to throw the same oil by radiation. The chambers.
6 and 7 are provided with valve controlled fuel supply pipes and 36 in order to allow either or both of the fuel supply pipes to be open, to the fuel gas chambers 6 and 7 provided with outlet openings 11 and 12 through which the fuel passes and is mixed with the air drawn up through the casing 4 so that the proper mixture is delivered to the burner 1 through the supply pipes 3 in order to obtain a perfect combustion, the casing l and the gas ca 5 forming a mixer.
The outer casing 15 is provided with a door frame 3'? closed by a door 38 by means of which the burner can be ignited, and in constructing a stove as herein shown and described the quarter section oil the burner is disposed under the door within the combustion chamber so that the same can be ignited which in turn will ignite the threequarter section of the burner, and by controlling the fuel supply pipes and 86 the quarter section can be used independent of the three-quarter section, or the three quarter section independent of the quarter section, or the entire burner can be ignited and used in order to produce an intense heat.
In the operation of the stove as herein shown and described assuming that the burner has been entirely ignited within the combustion chamber 29 the inner and outer casings will soon become thoroughly heated so that the outer casing will throw off heat by radiation, and as the air enters the central air chamber and passes up through the stove it will absorb the heat units from the inner casing and be emitted through the foraminous top so that all of the heat units produced by the burner will be absorbed by the air in order to produce a heating stove which is very economical in use.
If it is desired to only obtain a small amount of heat, by closing the valve in the supply pipe 35 the quarter section of the burner can be used with good results.
While I have shown and described a stove employing gas as a heating medium I do not wish to limit myself to a gas burner as a vapor burner might be employed Without departing from the spirit of my invention.
In the modification shown in Fig. 3 the combustion chamber formed by the inner and outer casing 39 and 40 is provided with an outlet 41 adapted to be connected to a chimney flue 42 in order to allow the products of combustion to escape directly from said combustion chamber and instead or providing a concavo-convexed cap 1 provide a cap 43 having a flat top a4.
From the foregoing description it will be seen that l have provided a heating stove with an annular combustion chamber having a burner arranged therein divided into sections either or both 01 which can be ignited, said combustion chamber surrounding the central air chamber through Which air is adapted to circulate to be heated.
I claim:
A heating stove comprising a burner ring mounted on legs and provided with radial supply pipes, said burner ring having an annularly disposed flange, an outer casing mounted on said burner ring and secured to said flange, an inner casing mounted on said supply pipes and spaced from said burner ring to provide an annular air inlet, said casings forming an annular combustion chamber, and a central air flue extending from the bottom of said stove to the top thereof, a drum disposed centrally in the upper end of said air flue, pipes extending radially from said drum, and communicating with the upper end of said combustion chamber, and a depending outlet pipe extending downwardly from said drum and having a laterally extending portion passing through said casings.
