INSULATED HANDLE FOR VESSELS.
Application filed April 13, 1922.` Serial No. 552,364.
To all fw /Lom t may concern.'
Be it known that l," SAMUEL G. VViLiins, a citizen of the United States, residing at liallingtord, in the county of New Haven 5 and State of Connecticut, `have invented a new and useful Improvement in Insulated Handles tor,`i7essels; and l do hereby declare the following, when taken iii connection with the accompanying drawings, and the characters of reference marked thereon, to be a full, clear,y and exact description of the same, and which said drawings constitute part ot this application, and represent in Fig. l a side view of a portion of a handle vessel having one of my improved insulators applied thereto.

Fig". 3 a sectional view on the line 3--3 of *u* nur. l.
Fie'. 4l a sectional view on the line 4 4 ot Fig. l.
Fig. 5 a sectional view, illustrating one which it is applied, and the invention con-` in the construction as hereinafter described and particularly recited in the claim. In carrying' out my invention, I ytorrn the insulator in two parts,-one consisting of a cup 6 formed with an outwardly extending rim and an upwardly extending flange 8, which is provided with a series of perforal0 l() formed with a rim l1, which enters the flange 8 in the other member, to which it is tions 9. The other member consists of a cup'r secured by soldering, brazing, or otherwise. The cups are reversed in position, so as to form` two outwardly projecting members, adapted respectively to be entered into the lower end vot' the handle l2 and the upper end of a lug` 13, which are secured to a vessel la in `the usual manner. As a convenient means for connecting the sections of the in'- sulator, the cup lO has its rim 1l formed with an annular shoulder 15, which permits the rim to set into the `tlange 8, and the edge ot the rim rests upon the edge of the said flange. This permits the proper positioning` ofthe parts, and after they are brazed or soldered together, the shoulder 15 is re-,
moved, so as to provide a smooth surface, c f
f other,
l/Vhile l havel shown only one insulator installed in a handle, it is obvious that in some styles of handles, two insulators may be employed.
l claim: v f
ri heat insulator 'for handlevessels, comprising a cup formed with an annular rim and an outwardly projecting flange, and a second cup formed with a rim connected `with the flange of the other cup, the said flange formed with a series ot pertorations; In testimony whereotl I have signed this f specification in the presence of two 'subscribing witnesses. i f
