MORRIS CRUPAIN, OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY.
TOILET-ARTICLE PACKAGE.
Application led July 27,
To all whom t may concern.'
Be it known that I, MORRIS CRUPAI'N, a citizen of the United States, residing at Newark, in the county of Essex and State of New Jersey, have Ainvented certain new and useful Improvements in Toilet-Article Packages, of which the following is a speci- This invention relates to improvements in toilet article .packages adapted 'to be used in' combination with a powder puff, said package being a transparent envelope to encase 'said puff and through one wall of which the puff may be inspected, there being disposed exteriorly of the envelope upon the opposite wall, a printed or pictorial ornamental sticker, relatively stiff, which maintains the envelope in substantially extended form with the picture exposed at all times.
In the accompanying drawings:
Figure 1 is an elevation of the envelope showing the pictorial portion thereof.
Figure 2 is a rear view thereof.
Figure 3 is a section taken on line 3 3 of Fi ure l.
igure 4 is a plan view showing the pictorial sheet attached to the rear thereof, dotted lines illustrating the position of the flaps and over-lapped edges there-underneath.
Figure 5 shows a modication in attachin the sticker tothe flap portion after the usua sealing of the envelope.
Referring to the drawings, the numeral 5 designates the complete envelope which is here shown as made of a single strip of transparent flexible material bent to provide the lower Hap 6 and the over-lapped and sealed` edges 7 and 8, and the closing flap 9.
Adapted to be disposed within the envelope or package, is the powder pufi'` 10 which may 1921. serial No. 487,922.
be of any shape, here shown circular, while attached to the opposite exterior wall of the envelope is the sheet 1l carrying the pietorial ornament 12 on the outer face thereof. 45 This is preferably attached by an adhesive so as to maintain the envelope in extended position. This picture is ornamental and distinctive and indicates the character of goods carried thereby.
By making the package absolutely transparent, and without a hole in either wall, the same is absolutely sanitary as no dust can sift in the package when once sealed and the powder puff ma be observed through one wall thereof, while the sheet carrying the picture,` which is relatively stift', merely maintains the same in extended position and renders the easy packing of the sealed packages in'quantities. 60
Although the pictorial sheet is shown attached to the side not having the flaps, it is possible to usethis as a sealing member to seal all flaps of the envelopes as well as the overlapped edges 7 and 8, permitting the puff 65 to be observable through the clear sheet portion thereof.
What I claim vas new is:
A toilet article packa e comprising in combination a powder puti a transparent envelope encasing said puff and through one wall of which said puff may be inspected, and a printed or pictorial ornamental relatively stiff sheet attached to the opposite wall upon the exterior thereof to maintain the envelope in substantially extended form, said sheet being attached to the exterior of the flap portion of the envelope, to assist further in sealing said envelope.
In testimony whereof I affix my signature.
