IMPROVEMENT IN CORNER FASTENINGS FOR WAGON-BOXES.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent N0. 143,333, dated September 30,1873; applicationfiled November 22, 1872.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, JASON W. ORANDALL, of Homer, in the county of Cortland and State of New York, have invented certain Improve ments in Box-Corners, of which the following is a specification:
This invention consists in the combination of an inner corner-plate of peculiar construction for wagon-seats, with an outer cornerplate and securing-bolts, as will be fully described hereinafter.
In the drawings, Figure 1 represents aview of the inner plate; Fig.2, of the outer plate; and Fig. 3 a view of the parts as applied to a (t represents the inner angle-plate, provided with the flanges c and suitable bolt-holes, and also with the peculiar quadrangular projection b, which forms a recess for the seat-rail. d represents the outer angle-plate, having suitable bolt-holes corresponding with those of plate a.
These parts are applied to a wagon-seat, as shown in Fig. 1, and securely united by bolts, the seat-rail resting in the recess of projection b, by which means great strength and stiifness are given to the joint.
Having thus fully described my invention, I do not broadly claim the combination of an inner and outer angle-iron having flanges; but
What I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
The combination of the inner angle-plate having the projection b, with a wagon-seat corner having a seat-rail, and the outer angleplates and securing-bolts, as described.
