The upper ends of the Z-bnrsl are secured to an angular member 3l fastened by bolts 3Q to the inside of the end plate 16. Any Suitable form of bracing structure may be employed. for distributing the stresses on the angular member 31 to the side walls of the car and for bracing the roof framing of the ear as against weaving strains. I have shown u pair of diagonal intersecting braces 33 fastened at one pair of extremities to the angular member 3l and at the other to angular members 34 secured by bolts 35 to the side plates 17 the braces 33 being preferably secured together at their intersection by a View, on :t larger gusset plate 36.
