Be it known that, I, FnonrJ/Tsrrr, a citizen of the United States, residing at Chicago, in the county of Cook and State of Illinois, have invented certain new and use ful Improvements in Towel Holders, of

which the following is a-spec-ification, reference being had therein to the accompanying drawings. 5 i

This invention relates to towel holders and has for an object to provide a holder for individual towels whereby the towels are inposition for convenient use and are prop erly stored both before and after usein separate receptacles.

A further object of the invention is, to provide a structure" adapted to be located in the washroom or elsewhere as convenience may make, necessary, having improved means forholding a plurality of individual towels in position to be withdrawn one ata time, and to be used while still retained upon the device and after-use to be dropped into 'a receptacle without at any time being re-- moved from the structure whereby theft and displacement of towels is prevented.

I, With these and other objects in view, the invention comprises certain novel units, parts, elements, combinations, arrangements and functions as will be hereinafter more fullyfdescribed and claimed.

Like characters of reference indicate corresponding parts throughout the several views. It is well known that in public wash rooms and other places it is considered desirable to furnish individual towels for the individual users. It has been found, however, that the individual towels, which are of small size, are easily carried away, misplaced or otherwise lost and that the cost of upkeep because thereof is considerable. . As it is necessary to replace and displace, replacement facilities are provided in a sliding keeper 21, having a keyhole slot 22 pro portioned to fit over a head 23 on the extremity of the rod 10. A staple 24: is secured at the rear of the upright 10 proportioned to be inserted through a slot in said keeper 21 and, when found necessary, to receive a padlock 25. At the lower end the rod 10 as has heretofore been mentioned is secured to the receptacle 14 in any approved manner as by the nut 15. To replace towels upon the rod, therefore, the upper end is liberated by manipulating the keeper 21, permitting towels to be strung upon the rod 10 in any number found desirable or necessary to occupy the position shown at Figure 1.. After the towels have been used one by one and dropped into the receptacle, they may be removedfor laundering by liberating the nut 15 and lifting the rod 10 out of the accumulated towels within the receptacle whereupon such accumulation of towels may be removed. It is also obvious that it will be unnecessary to remove the rod 10 from the receptacle 14 as it will be possible, if the receptacle 14 is movable, to insert the entire structure when the top of the rod 10 has been released and s ide thes le towels downwardly along the thus inverted rod to be discharged at the then lower end which is normally the upper end.
