Be it known that I, AARON T. PIGKETT, citizen of the United States, residing at Detroit, county of Va yne, State of Michigan, have invented a certain new anduseno, Improvement in Electric Signal Alarms, and; declare the following to be a tulliclear, and exact description offthesame', such as will enable others skilled in the artto which it pertainsto makeanduse the same, refinns, which form a partofthis specification.

This circuit is closed,-causing a continuous ring ing of the bell and display of the signal light-by the release of the spring actuated swinging arm L which is normally held in an open position by the armature G, of the magnet F, engaging the oft-set end or detent 1 of the swinging arm. The spring actuated swinging arm is released by the movement of the armature G, upon energizing the magnets F by closing the circuit through the floor push B and battery E. The bell will then ring continuously and the signal light will burn uninterruptedy until the circuit through the battery M is again opened by the manual return of the swinging arm I to its initial position, in
which position it is held by the armature G l until the latter is again released through ei'iergizing the magnet F by closing the circuit through the floor push as previously ex:- plained.
The lever arm I is fitted with a knob I, tor convenience in manually returning the winging arm to its initial position.
Having thus described, my invention what I claim is 1. In a device of the character described, including a magnet frame, an electro-mag net having; an armature, a spring controlled arm pivotally mounted on the frame and adapted to normally overlap the armature of the electro-magnet and be thereby 1'e strained against action of the spring, said elcctro-magnet adapted to be energized to carry the armature out of the path of the arm to release the latter and thereby close a circuit to actuate an alarm, and an operating arm connected with th spring con trolled arm.
2. In a device or the character described, including a magnet frame, an electro-magnet having an armature a spring controlled arm pivotally mounted at the upper end on the frame and arranged to swing at right angles to the arm and p'r'OTlClBCl with a detent at the lower end ada )ted to normally overlap the armature 01 the electroniagnet, and be thereby restrained against the action of the spring, said electro-magnet adapted to be energized to shift the armature away from the detent of the arm and thereby release the latter to effect a closing of a circuit and a consequent actuation of an alarm.
In a device of the character described, including a magnet frame, an electr0magnet having an armature, a spring controlled arin pivotally mounted on the frame and adapted to normally overlap the armature of the electro-magnet and be thereby restrained against action or the spring, and said electro-maa net adapted to be energized to carry the armature out of the path of the arm to release the latter and thereby close a circuit to actuate an alarm, and an operating arm connected with the swinging arm whereby the swinging arm may be manually returned to its initial overlapping relation with the armature when the magnet is deenergized.
In a device of the character described, an electro-magnet having an armature pivoted at the top and provided thereat with an angularly related spring arm, a swinging arm pivoted at its upper end and arranged to swing at right angles to the armature and provided at the lower end with a detent arranged to engage the armature, and an operating arm connected-with the swinging arm.
