To alliuhom it may concern;
Be it known that 1, FRANK 'FUNKE, a citizen of the United States of America, and resident of the town of Almonte, in the Province of Ontario and Dominion of Canada, have inventedcertain new anduseful Improvements in Rotary Fuel Mixers (for which I have filed an application in Canada on September 6, 1919, Serial No. 228002, issued as Fatent No. 210878, dated April 26, 1921), of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to improvements in rotary fuel mixers for internal combustion engines, and the objects of the invention are to facilitate atomizing the fuel and thoroughly inter-mixing it with air after it passes from the carburetor into the manifold, so that a proper explosive mixture will be formed and delivered to the cylinder, to permit of the improved vaporizing device being utilized on internal combustion engines at present in use by inserting it in the intake manifold at any point between the carburetor and the cylinder, and to adapt the severalfparts to better perform the functions required of them.
With the above and other objects in view, the invention consists of the improved construction and arrangement'of parts particularly described in the following specification and accompanying drawings.

The flange 10 is adapted to be inserted between two adjacent flanges of the intake manifold and is held in position, and a vertically disposed spindle 16 secured to the centre piece 13 is in alignment with the axis of the manifold.
This vertically disposed spindle 16 is provided with a plurality of spaced annular flanges 17 and between pairs of the said flanges, fans 18 are located, the said fans being rotatably mounted on the spindle 16;
The hubs of the fans 18 are recessed on the upper and lower walls to form ball races 19 for the balls 20 and undue friction between the fans and the spindle 16 and flanges 17.
When this device is in use on each suction of the stroke piston, the combustible fluid will be drawn from the carburetor through the intake manifold, and the fans 18 will be rotated at a high speed and thoroughly atomize the fluid on its passage through the intake manifold,
As, the fluid is delivered from the carburetor through the intake manifold, it is mixed with a predetermined quantity of air, and, when this mixture passes the fans 18, the air and atomized fluid will be thoroughly intermixed to form an explosive mixture.
This type of rotary fuel mixer can be used in any standard type of automobile and as the fans 18 derive their power 0 movement from the suction stroke of the piston, they will function properly to atomize the fluid being delivered to the cylinder through such suction stroke.
As many changes could be made in the above construction and many widely different embodiments of my invention within the scope of the claim, constructed without departing from the spirit or scope thereof, it is intended that all matter contained in the accompanying specification and drawings shall be interpreted as illustrative and not in a limiting sense.
What I claim as-my invention is:
A fuel vaporizer of the character described comprising a plate having a central ,opening with a pair of radial arms therein terminating in a centre piece, the
edgesof the plate being formed with U- shaped recess designed to be engaged by bolts passing through the flanges of the pipes forming the intake manifold on an automobile engine, a screw-threaded spindle extending through the centre piece and having a plurality of spaced annular flanges thereon, a nut on the spindle bearing against the centre piece and designed to support the 10 spindle in position above the same, a p1ural- In witness whereof I have hereunto set 15 my hand in the presence oftwo witnesses.
