IMPROVEMENT IN ARTlFiClAL FLOWERS.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 142,353, dated September 2, 1873; application filed July 21, 1873.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that 1, CHARLES A. SOHALLER, of the city and county of Philadelphia and State of Pennsylvania,.have invented a Sectioned Artificial Flower and Holder, of which the following is a specification:
The invention consists, first, in making an artificial flower, of any description, in two or more detachable parts or sections, and forming a cavityor hollow in the said flower for secreting articles; second, of a sectioned artificial flower in connection with a jewel or other box or receptacle.
Figure 1 is a sectioned artificial flower joined. "Figs. 2 and 3 are sections of Fig. 1. Fig. 2 contains the body of the jewel-box, and Fig. 3 the lid of the same.
The artificial flower A can be of any number of parts or sectionsin this instance of two parts, B and 0. Its interior, has a cavity or hollow for secreting jewels and other articles and things. The cavity or hollow can be either a receptacle or holder, or it can be in the form of a box, of which the part D of the section B is the body, and the part E of the section 0 the lid or cover, removable by a loop at the center, and which, when put together, complete the flower, as shown at Fig. 1, and effectually prevent the discovery of its construct-ion. v
I claim as my invention- An artificial flower made .in two or more detachable sections, and provided with a receptacle or casket, D E, for holding and secreting articles of jewelry, miniatures, 850., substantially as described.
