Be it known that I, ROBERT :MOBRTEN,

a citizen of the United; Statespresi ding. at Eastland, in the county of Eastland and State of Texas, have invented new and useful Improvements in Cookers, of which the following is a specification.

This invention relates to cooking vessels, and has for its primary object the provision of a vessel designed for association with the exhaust pipe ofa, motor operatedvehicle so that the heat from the exhaust of the motor may be utilized to cook the food arranged within "the vessel, thus making it possible for the occupants of the vehicle to have a hot meal at a nominal cost.

The nature and advantages of the invention will be better understood when the following detail description is read in connection with the accompanying drawings which form part of this application.

In the drawings like numerals of reference indicate the similar parts in the sev eral views and wherein Figure 1 is a fragmentary view of a motor operated vehicle showing the position of the cooking vessel thereon.

Referring to the drawings in detail A indicates generally a motor operated vehicle, beneath the floor board B of which is arranged the exhaust pipe C.

The device forming the subject matter of my invention comprises a vessel 10 constructed from any suitable material preferably aluminum. This vessel 10 may also vary in size and configuration without de-' parting from the spirit of the invention, while removably arranged within the vessel is a tray 11. The clamping'elements embrace the vessel 10 and have their terminals detachably connected with the covers, that portion of the clamping elements extending across the bottom of the vessel passing under the exhaust pipe C as indicated at 23. Manifestly, I have devised a cooking vessel wherein the food stuff may be arranged at the beginning of a trip, utilizing the exhaust from the engine of the vehicle to cook the food, so that the occupants of the car may at the proper time cost, and at the same time eliminate the necessity of carrying lunches which occupy considerable space in the car.

While it is believed that from the foregoing description the nature and advantages of the invention will be readily apparent, I desire to have it understood that I do not limit myself to what is herein shown and described,and that such changes may be resorted to as fall within the scope of what is claimed.

What I claim is 1. A device of the class described comprising a vessel having a longitudinally disposed groove in the bottom thereof to re,

ceive the exhaust pipeof a motor operated vehicle, a partition dividing the receptacle into compartments, a'handle carried by said partition, an inner cover having flanges adapted to engage the walls of the Vessel at have the benefit of a hot meal at a nominal the inner side thereof, a knob arranged centrally of said cover, an outer cover including flanges adapted to engage the outer sides of said walls of the vessel, a hollow knob carried by the outer cover and adapted to receive the knob of the inner cover, a lining of asbestos arranged between the respective covers, and means for holding both the receptacle and said pipe and also holding the cover in its place on the receptacle.

2. A device of the character described comprising a receptacle having a longitudinal groove in the bottom thereof adapted to receive the exhaust pipe of a motor operated vehicle, a cover for the receptacle, bifur cated lugs carried by said cover, a pair of substantially U-shaped clamping members extending across the bottom of said pipe and having their limbs arranged at the opposed sides of the receptacle, said limbs being pivoted to the portion of the clamps extended across the bottom of the receptacle and received by said bifurcated lugs, adjusting nuts associated with said limb whereby said clamps hold the receptacle upon the pipe and the cover in position upon the receptacle, and a reinforcing member connecting the corresponding limbs of the respective clamps at-each side of the receptacle.
