Referring to the accompanying drawings loy numeral, 1 and 2 indicate the respective sections of the body of the car, said car sections being supported by end truck sections 3 andeanda central truck section 5. The car sections 1 and 2 are articulated so that they are pivotally connected at adjacent points while thc opposite ends are allowed to freely swing with the truck sections 3 and fi; whereby the entire car may readily pass a straight 'track or a curved track having any desired curvature. The particular connection illustrated in the drawing between the car sections 1 and 2 is shown more or less in detail in Figure `1() wherein it will he seen that the car section 1 is provided with ears 6 and 7 while car section 2 1s provided with an ear 8 designed to loe inserted between ears (i and i whereby a pivotal pin 9 may loe readlare articulated and the articulation main tained at a central point in respect to the tramo 12 ot truck section 5. It will, of course, be understood that this movement amounts to only a short travel. The axle of the center truck section 5 is at a juncture o' the curve and the straight track, and` conse quently, is held so as to extend transversely in respect to the straight track.
In Figure 12 the 'lront and rear truck sections *3 and 4 assume the `same general posi tion `While the central `line through the axle of trucksection 5 is a radial line in respect `to the curve of the track. By reason of the construction and arrangement of levers the center truck section 5 will always act as a support for the articulated section of car body adjacent the ends regardless of the .curve on which the car operates.

In a truck of the character described a truck section 'f1-ame, a roller bar extending` transversely oit said truck .trame provided with a socket adjacent each end, a guide on each side of each socket and an extension projecting trom the socket, means for preventing movement of the roller bar transversely ot the truck section, said means perinitting` a swinging and np anddoivn movement et the roller bar, an anti-"friction roller arranged in each of said sockets and a spring arranged adjacent each end of said roller bar acting on said projections and on said L truck section iframe `ifor resilientlyv snpporting the roller bar.

In a center truck section for jointed railway cars, the combination of tivo car sections and means connecting them together, of a truck section trame beneath the connected portions oi' the car sections, means associated With the car sections and the frame serving to prevent lateral shifting oic the car sections with respect to the frame, said last mentioned means comprising a link, one end ot which is pivoted to the side of the Jframe and the other end of Which is pivoted to the lcoupling pin between the car sections.

In a car of the character described a pair of car sections, means for plvotally connecting said sections together, a central arranged truck section supporting adjacent ends of car sections, a pair of end truck sections, a rod pivotally connected to said central truck sections on each side thereof, said rod extending in opposite directions toward the end truck sections, a bell crank lever for each of said rods pivotally supported on said body sections and p-ivotally connected with said rods and a second pair of rods pivotally connected With said bell crank levers and kalso -pivotally connected with the respective ends oV said end truck sections whereby the axles ol' the respective truck sections are maintained at a proper angle in respect to the track as the car nieves over both a straight and curved track section.
