Description

A. V. ROMADKA. Trunk-Lid Supports.
Patented August 5, 1873.
NITED STATES ANTONY v. ROMADKA, on MILWAUKEE, WISCONSIN, nssrcnon TO ROMADKA PATENT BROTHERS, OF SAME PLACE.
IMPROVEMENT IN TRUNK-LID SUPPORTS.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent Nol 1l ,59l, dated August 5, 1873; application filed January 21, 1873.
To all whom-it may concern:
Be it known that I ANTONY V. ROMADKA, of Milwaukee,in the county of Milwaukee, in the State of \Visconsin, have invented certain Improvements in Trunks, ofwhich the following is a specification:
My invention is an improvement on a trunk; and consists in a jointed bar to hold the lid up, and also holding it from falling back.
Figure 1 is a perspective view of a trunk with my improvement attached.
A is the body of the trunk; B, the cover; 0, a rod, the upper end of which is attached to the cover of the trunk; E, a rod, the lower end of which is attached to the body of the trunk. The upper end of rod E is riveted to about the eenterof rod 0, and the upper end of O and lower end of E are secured by bolts to the cover and body, so that, as the cover is raised, the rods can oscillate, and as the cover is moved. forward when it is raised the lower end of rod 0 will vibrate back, forming an arm, and strike the body of the trunk and prevent the lid from closing.
I claim as my invention- The combination of the rod 0 attached to the trunk-cover with the rod E attached to the body, the two being hinged together so as to leave a projecting arm to act as a stop, substantially as described.
ANTONY V. ROMADKA. Witnesses:
J. B. SMITH, E. J. SMITH.
