Symon '01 A ohm, Pries His 31 dl'l'owf with a point 17, an adjustable supporting- JOHN PRIESPILIS, OF BROOKLYN, NEW YORK;
GRAMOPI-IONE REoo'nnBRUsH.
T 0 all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, JOHN PRIESPILIS, a
' citizen of Lithuania, residing at Brooklyn,
county of Kings and State of New York, have invented certain new and useful 1m provements in Gramophone Record Brushes,- of which the following is a specification;
My invention relates to brushes for clean:
ing phonograph record plates Or the like, and has for its'object to produce a brush of this character of simple inexpensive construction adaptedto'keep the record grooves clear of dust and the tiny shavings pro-, duced by the needle, while reproducing a record. V f
A further object of the invention isto provide means for elastically mounting the brush in such manner that it will readily follow the needle and yield when meeting obstructions or unevenspots. a
Another object of the invention is to provide a brush which is adjustably mounted and allows a securing of the brush to tune arms of varying diameter.
lVith these and other objects hereinafter explained in view, my invention consists in the construction hereinafter described and claimed.
"Referring to the drawing Figure 1 is a side view of a record plate, sound box, needle and tune arm with the brush constructed according to my inventio mounted thereon.
Figure 2 is an enlarged detail view partly in section taken along line 22 of Figure 1;
a tune arm mounted in a socket 14, all parts described so farbeing constructed in the ordinary well known manner and forming no part of the present invention. 1
To the arm 13 is secured its length by means of a split oropen ring 15 in which a smaller ring 16 is contained, provided 'justing screw 22.
The end of the rod 18 isextended through p ca o fitters-Patent Patented A1)1';25, 1922.

rod 1-8 which can be adjusted byvmeans, of. a screw 19 within a longitudinally and verti'cally arranged sleeve 20 on the extension 21 of the larger ring 15. H arm 13 the open ends ofthe splitrings 15 Underneath the and 16 are connected by means of an ad-- a longitudinal slotj23 of a guide strip 24:
and carries therebelow a head or block 25;
The oppositely disposed end of the strip 24 is bent to form a .U-member 26 and is end an ad uSting screw nut 29. 'Between the brush head 30 and the lower face ofthe U-member a coiled spring 31 is wound around the stem; i
The operation of the device will be clear from the above description of the same on hand of the drawing.
Itwill of course'be understood that I do not desire to be limited to the precise con struction or arrangement shown or described, it being clear that the brush could be mounted in front of the needle, and that:
other changes in details oficons'truction and arrangement can be made without departing fromthe spirit of the invention;
aving thus described my invention, what ent oftheUnited'States is as follows A mounting for a phonograph record brush comprising a support, a stem for said" brush, a horizontal slotted and perforated guide strip, a perforatedU-member at one I claim and desire to secure by Letters Patend of said strip allowing'the passage. of
the free end of said stem,- a set screw onthe upper end of said stem, a coiled spring wound around said stem between said In testimony whereof I have afixed my I signature.
