IMPROVEMENT lhl WINDMILLS.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 141,094, dated July 22, 1873; application filed March 8, 1873.
To all-whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, CHARLES A. TAYLOR, of Hartford, in the county of Hartford and State of Connecticut, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Vindmills, of which the followin g is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, in which- Figure l is a side elevation of the windmill. I claim as my invention- 1. A windmill-sail, consisting of a fixed central post, 0, with flaps c c hingedthereto upon either side, substantially as described, and for the-purpose set forth.
2. The combination of the sails, composed of the central post 0 and the flaps c c hinged thereto upon either side, the connecting-rods 6 e, the arms d d 01 d, the rod (1 running through the length of the shaft on, the swivelarm f, cords f, and weight g, all constructed, arranged, and designed for operation, substantially as and for the purpose set forth.
