. The invention, as herein shown, comprises a glassjar 1 having .an opening at the top thereof closed by asuitable cover 2 and an openingfat the bottom as indicatedat 3.

The base 5 receives a ring 8 formed with a segmental flange 9' cooperating with the flanges 7 on the base 5 to hold the said'ring 8 thereto. The ring v8 is provided with-a wall 10. whereby the ring forms a receptacle for surplus salt as will be hereinafter described. Associated with the ring 8 and'received by flanges 11 thereof are the flanges 6 of the intermediate member 4 whichcon-. sists of a glass body 12 having the sloping perforatewall 13 which ends in a spout 15.
The intermediate body 4 carries a metal ring with the flanges 0n the opening 3 of the g ass jar 1 and it is by means of the saidflanges on the respective parts that the same are held in their assembled relation but may be easily removed by rotation relative to each other for cleansing. The end of the spout 15 may be formed. with threads or any other suitable means for securing thereto a dispensing spout'18 which comprises a body 19 of substantially cylindrical form but open at the 'endsand having a nipple 20 threaded for connection with the spout 15; an outlet nipple 21 is also provided. withinv the cylindrical body 19 is a cylin 'dric'al element 22' having openings 23 and 24 which may be'brought into registration with the end of the spout 15 or the openingof the nipple 21 at different times but never at the Disposed same time with'both openings. This cylindrical member 22 is threaded on each end to receive theend closures 24 which also form a bearing at 25 on the cylindrical member 19. Through the bosses 26 on the members 24 is 'fitt'ed' a spindle 27 which carries the disklike members 28 having bosses 29 provided with screws 30 by means of which the said disk like members 28 may be secured to the spindle 27 at different points therea-long in order to provide for varying the available capacity of the cylindrical member 22. A. U-shaped handle member 31 is provided with members 32 keyed as at 33 to the bosses 26 of the ends'24cgsaid U-shape'd handlememher is provided'with an extension 34 carrying a knob 35. The handle member 31 and the disk 24' and cylindrical member 22 are assembled with respect to each other in such manner-that when the handle member stands in the position shown in Fig. 5 the opening 24 in the cylindrical member'22 will register amount.

The bottom portion-of the device shown in Fig. 3 may be of glass and form a receptacle 41 with a perforate partition 42 and a spout 4.3 while the'upper portion is a glass jar 44 identical with the one shown in connection with-Figs. 1 and 2 and the dispen'sing means 45 is identical with that previously' described.
The construction herein shown is illustrated merely as a specific embodiment of a practicalform of the invention but in commercializing the same it is. to be understood that trollingdischarge at, the pointof delivery, and means, for separating excess granular substancefrom the commodities as they pass to the point of delivery. v

A dispensing container comprising a reservoir, a base having a discharge spout with a perforate bottom wall, said spout being in communication with the interior of said reservoir, a cylindrical end carried by said spout and having a nozzle out of alinementwith the spout body, anda movable container withinfsaid cylindrical endand having openings one registering with the 'spout'in one position of said container and.
the other registering with the nozzle for discharge in the other position of said eontainer, said base providing a receptacle for receiving granular matter.

A dispensing container comprising a reservoir, a base having a discharge spout with a perforate bottom wall, said spout being in communication with the interior of said reservoir, a cylindrical end, carried by said spout and having arnozzle outfof alinement with the said spout body, a movable container within said cylindrical end and having openings one registering with the spout in one position of the-container and the other registering with thenozzle. for discharge in the other position of said container, means included within said container for varying the capacity thereof, and a receptacle included within the base and 00-- operating with said perforatebottom wall whereby granular matter is received in the said receptacle.
7. A dispensing container comprising a reservoir, a conveying: spout leading from the reservoir and provided with a cylindrical end, a discharge spout depending from-said I cylindrical end,a cylindrical member within said end and concentric therewith and having openings in its circumferential wall,
disk-like members movable toward or from' each other axially of. said cylindrical member at opposite sides of the conveying. spout to vary the, capacity of, said cylindrical member, means closing the ends ofsaid cylindrisaid cylindrical end and having1 cal member and forming stops for said disklike members, and means for rocking the cylindrical member whereby it may receive material through one of said openings from the conveying spout and subsequently discharge the material through the other openingand the discharge spout. A dispensing container comprising a reservoir, a conveying spout leadlng from the reservoir and provided with a transverse cylindrical end, a delivery spout depending therefrom, a closed cylinder rotatable within peripheral openings, a rod extending axia y' through said cylinder disks movable along said rod at opposite sides of the'conveying spout to approach or recede from each other for varying thecubical receiving area of said cylinder, and a handle member secured to said rod and to the cylinder and normally extending over the cylindrical end of the conveying spout and operable to rock the cylinder whereby the openings in the cylinder may be set to receive measured quantities of material from the conveying spout and discharge the same through t e del very s out.
