Description
G. KREMENTZ.
Dies for Enlarging and Sizing Plain Finger-Rings.
Patented July 1, i873.
. UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE;
GEORGE KREMENTZ, OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY.
IMPROVEMENTIN DIES FOR ENLARGING AND SIZING PLAIN FINGER-RINGS.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 140,422, dated July 1, 1873; applicationfiled April 12, 1873.
. plain fingerrings, which shall be simple in construction, convenient in use, and eflective in operation, bringing the ring to exactly the required size. The invention consists in the die and plunger constructed, as hereinafter more fully described, for enlarging and sizing plain rings, as set forth.
Arepresents the ring to be sized. B represents the lower or stationary die, which has a hole, b ,forn 1ed through it of such a size as to allow the plunger 0 to pass through it freely. In the upper end of the hole I) is formed a rounded recess or concave shoulder, b, to receive the ring A. The plunger 0 is made tapering or conical, and with its upper part of exactly the size required for the ring. Upon the upper end of the plunger 0 is formed a tenon to enter a hole in the lower end of the holder D, by which the said plunger 0 is forced through the ring A.
In using the device the ring A is placed in the recess b of the die'B, and the plunger U is forced through it by the holder D, bringing the ring to exactly the required size, and leavin g it perfectly true. As the holder D rot-urns the plunger 0 drops from it.
A different-sized plunger must be used for each required size of ring.
Having thus described my invention, I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent- The die B, having hole I) and concavity b combined with a tapering plunger, 0, to size rings, in the manner described.
GEORGE KREMENTZ.
