g nl im i in' eri-l..
dpecication forming part of Lettere Patent No. llldtlllwd, dated June 24, 1673; application tiled April 12,1813.-
e To all 'whom l'it may concern:
Beit known that I, GEORGE W.' Huns'r, of Avon, in the county of Lorain and State of Uhio, have invented a new and useful 1m- @provement in Reversible Harrow-Tooth, of
rwhich the following is a specification:
Figure l is a side View of two of my iml' proved harrow-teeth, shown as applied toa beam'of a barrow-frame. Fig. 2 is a perspective view of the same.' Similar letters of reference indicate corresponding parts.
The invention consists in providing a harrow-tooth with two arms or shanks, which form an angle with the tooth, are attached on Y diiierent sides of the longitudinal bar of liarrow-frame, and thus brace it in two directions,
as hereinafter described and claimed.
A are the teeth, which are madeV-shaped,
as shown in- Figs. 1 and 2, and with their points or ang es vsomewhat elongated. The
outer edges ci,y he arms ofthe teeth A are beveled o upon heir opposite sides, so that they upon and bolted to the opposite sides of the beam B of the barrow-frame, and are slightlyr bent, so that they may lit squarely against the sides of said beams. This construction enables the teeth A, when worn, to be readily reversed. '.llhe inclination given to the teeth A, by attaching the ends of their arms to the opposite sides of the beam B, enables them to readily pass obstructions, and the inclination of their edges, and their narrowness or thinness, prevents them from tearing up and turning the furrows when dra'wn across them.
Having thus described my invention, 1 claim as new and ,desire to secure by Letters Patent- A harrowtooth having two shanks slightl ly bent in opposite directions from each other,
to enable them to be securely fastened on opposite sides of bar B, and thus brace each other'in the manner set forth.
' GEORGE W. BURST.
