Description

UNITED starts PATENT AARON D. EHREVE. O]? KEARNEY, NEBRASKA.
INSECTICIDE AND DISINFECTANT.
No Drawing.
To all to hem it may concern Be it known that I, AARON D. Ednnnvn, a citizen of the United States, residing at Kearney, in the county of Bufialo and State of Nebraska, have invented certain new and useful improvements in Insecticides and Disinfectants, of which the following is a specification.
This invention is a compound for use as a disinfectant and insecticide to rid poultry and animals of parasites and promote the be mixed with the twenty gallons above,
and about five pounds each at sodium chlorid and sodlum OXlCl. now thoroughly admlxed by agltatlng or stirring.
The compound may be applied to the iowls or animals byspraying or washing them with it, or it may be left in receptacles in the stable, barn, pen, or poultry house; in fact stalls, perches, etc., maybe washed specification of Letters Patent.
Application filed August 5, 1918.
All ingredients are Patented Dec. ti, Tw t,
Serial No. $48,330.
or sprayed with the compound whose odor is so objectionable that stock and fowls will. not eat of it to their injury.
This compound is not expensive and is highly etficient tor the purposes for which it is intended. The crude tar oil forms a body or vehicle for holding the other ingredients, and the carbon throws oft fumes which are deadly to all insects which tend to bury themselves in the hair or feathers and feed upon the flesh of the stock. The carbolic acid, chlorid of sodium and oxid of sodium aid to some extent in destroying the parasites, and have the additional function of disinfecting the body and the premises in which the stock may be housed so that the general cleanliness and sanitary conditions under which the stock is maintained will be increased and the general health of the fowls r animals promoted.
Having thus described my invention, what is claimed as new is:
A composition for the purpose set forth consisting of a mixture of the following ingredients in about the proportions stated: crude tar oil, ten gallons, carbon produced during the conversion of oil into gas and known as high pressure carbon, ten gallons, carbolic acid, five gallons, sodium chlorid, five pounds, and sodium OXlCl, five pounds.
In testimony whereof I atiix my signature.
