Description

L. AND H. HO'PP. FRI CE TICKET HOLDER. APPLICATIONVHLEDSCPT.17, I921.
atented Nm v 29 1921.
I ATTORNEYS IiEO HOP? AND nimmemr' Horr, or NEW YORK, n. Y.
Prion-Ticker HOL R."
To allwham it may concern:
Be it known that we, LEO'HOPP and lien-- MANN Herr, both citizens of the United States, and residents of the'city of New York, borough of Manhattan, in the county and State of New York, have invented a new and Improved Price-Ticket Holder, of
which the following is a full, clear, and ex act description.
The present invention relates vices, and it pertains more particularly to a new ,and improved. form of price ticket holder.-
tractive in appearance. It is a further object of the invention to ily It is one of the objects of the present vention to provide a price ticket holder in which price indicating means may be retained in the holder against accidental displacement and movement relative one to the other, thereby providing a holder in which,"
the-several elements are at all times in proper position and which is neat and atprovide a. holder for price indicating means especially adaptable for use with price tickets of a flexible nature, said holder being so constructed that the flexible tickets are read positioned therein and removed therefrom.
With the above and other objects in view,
' referenceis had to the accompanying drawin'gs, in which p I Figure 1 isv a front perspective view of a price ticket holder constructedin accordance with the present invention; 1
Fig. 2 is a rear perspective view thereof; Fig. 3 is a front perspective view of a slightly modified form of the invention.
Referring. to the drawings, and more particularly to Figs. 1 and 2, the reference 'char acter 5 designates the base of the'holder. This base is preferably rectangular in shape and has its side edges formed'with -oppositely-disposed integral guides 6,
' Formed uponeach end of the base 5 of the .holder is a tongue or the like 8, andthe'se tongues 8 are of a width substantially equal to one-half the width of the body of the holder and are adapted to be bent around f the base portion '9 of a resilient U-shaped;
clamping member 10 in order to retain the base aniiLthe clamp in operative position. The body 5 ofthe of its ends with an elongatedlug ll ex-' tending forwardly of the body, andupon it's Specification of Letters Patent. Application filed September 1-7, waif-serial no; 501,256. I
to newan d" useful improvements 1n price-marking de older is'formed on one relatively short integral lug 12. These lugs 11 and 12 are adapted to project forwardly of the holder, as more clearly shown in Fig.
Patented Nov. 29,1921.-
. opposite end the body 5'55 formed witha Y I 1, for a purpose to be hereinafter described, i The reference character 13. designates price-indicating means in the form of one or more tickets, and said-tickets are adapted to. be carried by the base .or body 5 of the holder and retained in position thereon by means of the integral guides 6- heretofore mentioned. 'Whenthe tickets are positioned in the holder, the elongated lug 11 on one end of the holder prevents-their accidental fdisplacement from that end' upon which saidlug 11 is formed, while the lug 12 prevents displacement of the tickets from the other end-of the holder. Y
In order to provide for the ready removal of the tickets, the base 5 of the holder is cent the smaller lug 12.
As heretofore stated, the price-marking tickets are of a flexible nature, and are readily i'nsertible into the holder by means of a flexing .of'sa'id tickets. 'When, however, it is desired to remove the tickets, a flexing thereof could not ordinarily be had without defacin" the edges of. the tickets. However, with t e resent device, the cutnotchedor cut out, and said cut-out portion i is preferably in one end thereof and adja out portion lbprovi as for the proper gras'ping of the price tickets adjacent one edge. 1
thereof, and permits of a flexing of said edge .above the relatively small lug .12 and thus permits of a readyremoval 'of the several ticket is removed, the next ticket is moved along the base until its edge is in a position adjacent the cut-out portion where it may be grasped'to'flexthe ticket without injury thereto.
' In the form of the invention shown in 4 tickets which may be carried by the holder, y
it, of course, being understood that as one 3, the reference character 20 designates. a a
se provided with oppositely disposed flanges 21 within which the tickets are carreadily clear the strap-or lug 22, when the ticket is free to slide from the holder.
This form of ticket holder may be cut out as indicated at 24:, to provide a supporting prop 25, or the like, by means of which the holder may be supported in easel-like position'if desired.
From the foregoing it is apparent that the present invention provides a new and novel form of ticketholder in which the body portion thereof is formed'with lugs, said lugs serving to prevent a sliding movement of the tickets relative to each other and to the holder, and thus retain the tickholder with a cut-out portion inorder that the edge of a ticket may be grasped and flexed, the tickets. may be readily removed Aticket holding device for fiexibletickets comprising a main body portion provided' with oppositely disposed side flanges in which .a ticket is adapted to be slidably mounted, lugs formed integral with saidmain body portion, said lugs beingformed on the ends thereof to prevent longitudinal 1 movement of the ticket in the side'flanges after the same has been-positioned therein, and a cut-out portion formed in the body portion t permit of. engagement of the ticket to flex the same over the end lugs to permit of its removal from'the body portion, substantially ads-described.
