IIMPROVEMENT IN REED-ORGANS.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 139,483, dated June 3, 1873; application filrd March 14, 1673.
To all whom t may concern:
Beit known that I, ANDREAS J. SORENSEN, of Erie, in the County of Erie and State of Pennsylvania, have invented a new and Improved Top for Gabinet0rgan Cases, of which the following is a specification:
My nvention consists in extending the ends of a reed-organ case provided with a front fall, which Slides backward and forward, thereby im provin g the appearance of the case, and in s0 constructing this extension as to furnish an inolosure for books, music, &c., the hinged door to which shall serve for a musicdesk, and with recesses tor lamp-stands.
This device is 'illustrated in the accompanying drawing, as follows:
Figure 1 is a front view of my invention. Fig. 2 is an end view thereof.
The letters B B indicate the recesses for lamps, &c. The letters A A indicate the lampstands. The letters E E indicate the framework of the entrance to the case-top. The letter D indicates the hinged door to the inclosure. The letter C indicates the fretted surface of the hinged door D. An 0rgan case top thus extended and modified is not only greatly improved in appearance, but better meets the wants of the organ-player than it otherwise would.
I claim Thereed-organ top, provided with the hinged door D, its frame-work E E, and having the music-receptacle in the rear of said door, sub stantially as described.
