fl '0 all whom it may concern Be it known that I, THOMAS F. HICKEY, a citizen of the United States, residing at Shrewsbury, in the county of WVorcester and State of Massachusetts, have invented a new and useful Leather-Cutting Machine, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to a machinefor cutting sheets of leather into strips of medium width. In a prior application, Serial No. 289,464, filed April 11, 1919, I have shown a machine for cutting leather into narrow strips, which is very effective for the purpose specified, but which is not adapted for cutting wider strips, as the leather will buckle and bulge as it passes through the rolls and uneven edges will result.
It is the object of my present invention to provide a machine which will cut leather. into strips of even width, having straight and uniform edges and which will perform this operation easily and rapidly.
\Vith this general object in view, my invention relates to certain arrangements and combinations of parts which will be herein after described, and more particularly pointed out in the appended claim. Y

Referring to the drawings, my improved machine comprises a frame 10 provided with bearings 11 and 12 for a cutting shaft 13, on which a plurality of cutting disks 14 are mounted in spaced relation, being'separated by collars 15. Tight and loose pulleys 16 and 17 are also mounted on the shaft 13.

A second table 36 may also be provided to receive the stock as it leaves the cutting disks 14. The shaft 18 is ordinarily so adjusted that the grooved collars thereon exert no pressure upon the stock S, as the stock passes over the collars on the cutting shaft, but merely cooperate with the disks 14 in performing the cutting operation.
The relatively slow speed of the feed rolls is a very important feature of my invention,

and I do not wish to be otherwise limited to the details herein disclosed, but What I claim 1s A leather cutting machine comprising a cutting shaft having a series of spaced disk knives thereon, a grooved shaft cooperating with said kni'ves, a pair of feed rolls spaced from said shafts and engaging the stock as it approaches the knives, and means to face speed.
