HEINRICH OB'IGIES, OF ERFURT, G-ERMALN'Y.
SELF-LOADING PISTOL.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, HEINRICH On'rerns,
citizen of the German Republic, residingat No. 30 Cyriakstrasse, in. the city of Erfurt,
Germany, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Self-Loading Pistols, of which the following is a specifica in which it is shiftable vertically to the 1on gitudinal axis of the pistol.
In the accompanying drawing the inven tion is exemplified'in a constructional form in an automatic pistol which is fitted with a breech slide guided on the frame. Figure l is a side elevation'of the cooked pistol shown partly in section. Fig. 2 is a top view of the frame without the breech slide, but with the trigger and the sear with the interrupter. Fig. 3 shows the sear and the trigger separately on an enlarged scale. Fig. 4 is a section along the line 44 in Fig. 3, and'Fig. 5 is a top view of the sear alone. I g V The pistol shown in the drawings consists in knownmannerof the frame a, the barrel 6 and the breech slide 0, said slide being guided longitudinally on the'frame a and being so arranged that it encircles the V barrel 6. A spring acts on the slide 0 which,
after the shot, performs a to and fro movement on the frame a. In the constructional form shown in the drawings the sear' is disposed on one side of the pistol. It consists of a lever provided with a pivot pin 6 which is mounted'in an opening in the wall of the frame. The rearv end of the sear which can engage with the percussion pin 9 (Fig. 1) is permanently held up by means of a spring f, while itsfront end it is coupled by means of the interrupter with-the trigger is, which is pivoted on the pin i, and is under the action of a spring Z. The front end h of the sear al is made in the form of Specification of Letters Patent. 7 Patented J 21 1921 Application filed April 1,
1919. Serial No. 286,817. t
a bridge or fork in the outer branch of which is'formed a guide opening wherein a stud m constituting the interrupter is slid ably mounted, said stud having an enlargement 1n the form of a disk at and being pressed outward by'means of a spring p wh1ch bears against the other branch. The outer end of the stud m passes through the adjacent sideof the frame a and protrudes therefrom (Fig. 2). lVhen the breech slide.
0 is in closed position, the projecting part of the stud m engages in a groove in the inner surface of the breech slide, and when the slide moves backward it forces the said 'stud'inwardlya The trigger/ s has on its side a lug 9 extending upward, which bears against the disk 92 of the interrupter m,
5). On the trigger is being pressed, the
sear d israised, whereby'the percussionpin is released, and the shot is fired. The breech l slide 0, which is then thrown back, thereby forces the interrupter minward, so that the lug r of the trigger 7c is disengaged from '70 when the latter is forced out (Figs. 2 and the disk at of the interrupter at). The
sear can then again resume its normal POSI. tion, and catch the percussion pin'when the latter has reached the'end of its rearward movement. The trigger can engage. with the sear 03 only after it has been released by the operator. It goes without saying that the interrupter may also be used with a sear of any other type than the one shown in the drawings. V V
That I claim to secure by Letters Patent of the United States is ing a forked front end, the outer arm of which 1s provided with a guide opening;
and a spring controlled stud slidably mount- 7 ed in said opening and provided with a portion which is normally disposed in the path 7 of the trigger to operatively couple the 'latter to said sear, but which is automatically displaced from said path consequent upon the rearward movement of the slide to prevent operation of the sear by the trigger when the breech is'open.
In testimony whereof I have alfixedmy signature.
iininnron ORTGIES.
