Be it known that I, JAMEs E. MCNARY, major in the United States Army, a citizen of the United States, stationed in France with the American Expeditionary Forces, have invented an Improvement in Pack.- Carriers for Shells and Projectors, of which the following is a specification.
The invention described herein may be used by the Government or any of its oflicers or employees in prosecution of workfor the Government, or by any other person in the United States, without payment of any'royalty thereon. V
The object of the present invention is the production of a pack carrier adapted to transport shells of such weight that two constitute a load for the ordinary pack animal. I

Each pannier consists of two sidebars 9 joined together at their lower ends by blocks 10 and at their upper ends by blocks 11.
