To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, WILLIAM S. VAN S NT, a citizen'of the United States, residing-at Oakland in the county of Alameda and State of- -alifornia, have invented a new" and useful Improvement "in Ice- Scrapers, of. which the following is a specification. H This inventlon' relates to an ce scraper, and especially toa scraper whereby snow cones or the like'may be formed.

' One of the objects of the present invention is to provide a simple, substantial and easily operated device whereby lce maybe readily reduced by scraping actlon to a vide'a coneshapedmolding member, a hansnow-like consistency and simultaneously molded to form cones.

Another object of theinvention is to prodle therefor, a pairof scrapers whereby the ice may be readily and quickly disintegrated and delivered to the mold, and'in conjunction therewith to provide means for ejecting the material when molded.

Further objects will hereinafter appear.

The invention consists of the parts and the construction, combination and arrangement of parts as hereinafter more fully described and claimed, having reference to the accompanying drawings, in which- Figure 1 is a side elevation of the scraper.

Fig. 2 is a plan view of the same.

Fig. 3 is a central vertical longitudinal section of Fig. '1.

Fig. 4 is a bottom view of the scraper.

Fig. 5 is a fragmentary view in section showing the removable scraper.

Referring to the drawings in detail, A indicates a cone-shaped molding member to which is suitably secured a tubular shaped handle 2. The molding member is open at one end, as at 3, and is closed at the opposite end by a bottom section 4. This bottom section consists of two inclined plates 4 and 4 which are slightly separated to form a cross slot 5. Secured to the bottom section 4 in any suitable manner is a scraper 6. This scraper has a serrated cutting 'or scrap ing edge 7, which registers with the slot and directs the ice shavings or particles upwardly in the cone-shaped mold.- Formed on one side of the mold is a vertically positioned slot 8. ' In actual operation this is'accomplished rby first employing one scraper and by drawing the scraper over an ice block in such a manner that a shaving or a disintegrating action will take place. The scraper is pulled toward the operator when employed and the disintegrated material will therefore be forced through one slot or another directly into the mold. Both scrapers may be employed, one at a time, and the snow-like material received by the mold may be tamped by the other hand. A fairly solid snow cone is in this manner producedwhich may be ejected by depressing the spring arm 11, as depression of said arm forces the plate 12 inwardly and thereby dislodges the snow cone. The snow cone whenejected, as previously described, is received by a cornucopia and may then be flavored to suit the buyer.

The combined scraper and mold here shown is exceedingly simple and substantial, and may be handled by practically any one as comparatively littleknowledge is required in the operation of the same. Large scraping surfaces are provided and the operation is therefore comparatively quick. A fresh product is always insured by the buyer as snow cones of this kind melt readily and cannot be kept except in cold storage. The operation of producing the snow cones is, however, so easily and quickly accomplished that the operator does not have to make a supply of the same for sale, but shaves each cone when required.

'YVhile certain features of the present invention are more or less specifically illustrated, I wish it understood that various changes in the form and proportion may beresorted to within the scope of the appended claims, similarly that the materials and finish of the several parts employed may be such as the experience and judgment of I claim and desire to secure by Letters Patent, isr I 1. A combination mold and scraper, comprising a cone shaped mold, a handle therefor, a bottom section in the mold having a transverse slot, a scraper adjacent said slot, an ejector plate adjacent the'bottom section of themold, and means'by which said plate may be'lifted to eject the contents of the mold. r I

A combination mold and scraper comprising a cone shaped mold, a handle therefor, a bottom section in the mold, a slot formed in one side of the mold extendingfrom end to end thereof, a scraper adjacent said slot, an ejector plate adjacent the bottom section of the mold, and means by which said plate may be lifted to eject the contents of the mold. 3. A device of the character described, comprislng a cone shaped mold member, a

bottom section in said mold, a slot formed 7 therein and-extending crosswise of the bottom section and a scraper secured to the bottom section and slightly overlapping the slot, a handle for the mold, a spring memher secured on the handleand projecting into the mold, and an ejector plate carried by said spring member and adaptedto eject contents of the mold upwardly when the sprin is compressed.
