Be it known that I, LE0 G. HOLTSCHNEIDER, a citizen of the United States, and a resident of the city of Jefferson City, inthe county of Cole and State of Missouri, have invented a new and Improved Humidifier, of which the following is a full, clear, and exact description.

This invention relates to improvements in humidifiers, an object of the invention bein to provide a device of the character state which will occupy the space of a cigar 1n a box of cigars and which can be adjusted to 'give just the desired moisture, or adjusted invention consists in certain novel features of construction and combinations and ar-' rangements of parts as will be more fully hereinafter described-and pointed out in the claims I J In the accompanying drawin s Figure 1 is a view in elevatlon illustratingl my improvements. My improved humidifier comprises two casing sections 1 and 2, both of general cylindrical form and fitting one upon the other. y

\The sections 1 and 2 have each a closed end 3 which tapers to give to the device the general shape of a cigar.

It is to be understood that the device is designed to occupy a cigar space in a cigar box, and hence will be of the proper size and shape for this purpose.

The inner casing section 2 has an annular external shoulder 4 against which the end of section 1 bears, and section 1 has an internal annular shoulder 5 against which the end of section 2bears.

The sections 1 and 2 have perforations 6 which are adapted to register or which may be closed or partially closed by imparting either a partial rotary. or longitudinal movement to the members relative to each other.

A core 7 of absorbent material is located in the casing and supported at the ends in the ends of the casing, and the inner section 2 is made with an annular recess 8 extending throughout the .perforated' portion thereof and providing an ample air space to permit a free evaporation and a circulation of air.

Various slight changes might be made in the general form of the parts described without departing from my invention, and

hence I do not limit myself to the precise details set forth but consider myself at liberty to make such slight changes and alterationsas fairly fall within the spirit and scope of the appended claim.

I claim':

A humidifier comprising two circular casing sections fitting one. upon the other, an external annular shoulder adjacent theend of the inner. casing section receiving thereagainst the open end of the outer casing section, an internal annular shoulder in the outer casing section receiving thereagainst the open end of the inner casing section,

each of said sections having a closed end and an open end, saidclosed ends tapering from said shoulders, and said sections having perforations therein adapted to be moved in or out of registration by the rotary or longitudinal movement of said'sections.
