To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I HERMAN J. En'nuLn, a citizen of the United States, residing in the city of St. Louis and State of Missouri, have invented certain new and useful Removable Floor-Form Sections for Use in Connection with Column-Forms Used in Slab Construction' My invention relates to removable floor form sections for use in connection with column forms used in slab construction, and has for its object to provide a removable and separable form adapted to be supported by the floor-joist at an elevation to provide the slab construction with a flat lower or ceiling surface, or with a depressed ceiling surface, as desired. 7
A further object of the invention is to provide a two. piece form section to permit the same to be positioned in sections, also removed in sections.
A still further object of the invention is I to provide a form that will be simple in construction, durable, easy to place into position, and to remove, and one which will materially reduce the cost of slab construction,
as .no sawing of the wooden floor form around the head of the column forms is necessary, which sawing of material results in the waste of floor form lumber.
Acfurther object of the invention is to provide a floor form section which can be re-used. I
'With the above and other objects in view, the invention consists in the novel construction, arrangement and combination of parts hereinafter described and finally pointed out aline with the floor form. so as to form a ceiling effect.

In carrying out. the aim of my present invention, I employ a removable and separable form comprising two sections A and B. Each form section A and B comprises the long frame members 7,, and the short frame members 8, which frame members are 2 reinforced or strengthened at their corners by means of suitable'brace members 9. Each framesection A and B of the form is provided with a' suitable top plat-61G havinga semi-circular opening or cutaway portion 11 to provide a circularopening to receive the cap. 4 of the column form 3 whenjthe removable, form isassembled in position, within the opening 6 of the floor form; The flange or shoulder 5 of the oap of the column form: 3, is adapted to rest upon the upper face. of the cover plate 10. of the removable. form, as clearly shown in Figs. 2 and 3.v The two sections of the removable form frame are held in the desired position with relation to thefloor form proper bymeans of suitable support ing members 12. The removable form frame, when assembled, is adapted to rest upon the supporting member 12, as clearly shown inFigs.2 and. 3. The form sup porting members 12 may be united at their corners to form a frame, if desired. The supporting members 12 are nailed as at 13, or otherwise secu'relyfastened to the joists 1 to hold and support theremovable form at the desired elevation within the open in 6.
When the flat slab construction des qnated C, is to have a flat ceiling effect adjacent the head 14, of the column 15, as shown in Fig. 4f, the removable form is positioned within the opening 6 so that the top face of the plate 10, thereof, will lie in a plane with the top face of the floor form, as clearly shown in Fig. 2.
Whenever the flat slab construction C, is to be provided with a depressed ceiling portion D at the head 14 of the supporting column 15, the removable form is so arranged within the opening 6 that the upper face of the top plate 10 will lie at a suitable elevation below the top face of the floor frame, as clearly shown in Fig. 3.
It will be here observed that the height of the depression D in the ceiling at the head of a supporting column may be varied, as desired, by adjusting the removable form frame to the desired position withm the opening 6 of the floor form.
It is possible with my improved removable form to remove the column form 3 from the concrete column 15 much sooner. than where the floor form adjacent the head of a column form is not provided with a removable form section.
To remove my improved removable form section from the opening 6 of the floor form 7 after the flat slab structure C and supporting columns 14 have sufficiently set, I remove the supporting members 12 from the joists and each form section and B is then easily lowered and removed from the opening 6, as is manifest. After this has been done, the removable column form is then removed from around the concrete col umn 15 and head portion 14: thereof.
From the foregoing description, it will beevident that I have provided a removable and' separable form section which can be quickly assembled within a floor form opening 6 surrounding the head 4 of a column form' 3, and quickly removed after the slab and column structure have been formed. It is also evident that the form section can'be re-used after being removed from thefioor form opening 6.
The many advantages of the herein described removable form will readily sug gest themselves tothose skilled in the art to which it appertains.
I donot wish to be understooda's having limited myself to the exact details of construction shown and described, but desire 'to have it understood that the removable form I have shown in the drawings is merely illustrative, as it is manifest that various minor changes may be made in the form, shape and particular arrangement of parts without departing from the spirit of my invention, hence reserve the right to make any such changes or modifications as may fairly fall within the scope of the appended claims when fairly construed.
What I claim is: 1. In combination with a floor form having an'opening and the head of a column form, a separable two piece form section positioned in the floor form opening having a central opening to receive the head of a column form, and a removable frame fixed to the floor joist for supporting the form section at any desired elevation in the floor form opening. l
3. In combination with a floor form having an opening and the head of a column form, a separable two piece form section having a column head receiving opening positioned in the floor form opening, and a rectangular frame removably fixed to the floor joist for supporting the form section in the floor form opening at an elevation to provide a depressed. ceiling portion of the desired height.
4. In combination with a floor form for l flat slab construction having an opening and the head of a column form, of a removable and separable form consisting of two sec-l tions having a column form head receiving openlng positioned in the floor forinopenmg and cleats removably fixed to the floor joist for supporting the form section at an I elevation in the floor form opening to produce a flat ceiling effect, or a depressed ceiling effect, of a desired height, when the forms are filled with a cementitious material. i V
