rIheinvention relates to advertising devices and has for itsobject to provide a device of this character comprising abase having longitudinally disposedthereon an endless screen liaving-a scene thereon and to provide a rotatable sign display above the endless seam7 which sign display -is intermittently changed by mechanism operated from the driving mechanism for the the endless scene. Also `to provide a figure of a man having pivoted arms, which arms are -caused to move in a pointing position in relation to a changing sign bythe mechanism which operates the changeable sign.

The ratchet wheel` being prevented from retrograde fmovement by the spring actuated pawl 20, .said ratchet wheel 19 is secured on a shaft Y21,y which is rotatably mounted in bearings .22 of the sides of the frame 23. Rotatably mounted in bearings 24 of theframe 23 is a preferably triangular shaped display sign reel 25 onthe pintle 26 of which a dislr27 yis secured. The reel 26 is adapted to be intermittently rotated so that .signs carried thereby will be brought into registration with Iopenings 28 in the background 14. 'The revolving of the disk 27 is accomplished by vmeans of an arm `29, which as it rotates engagesy the pivoted arm 30 and causes its end 31` to move upwardly on the pivotal point 32 thereby causing an upward'moven ment of the arm 33. Secured to the upper Vend of the background 14 as at 43 is a rectangular'shaped Vsupport 44, yto which support is secured the ligure of a clown 45, the arms 46 of which are pivotally connected as at 47 and are adapted to be moved downwardly `and inwardly Vso that the hands 48 will point'to. the signs being displayed in the openings 28 at the moment of change of the signs therebyattracting attention to the signs being displayed and intermittently changed. The arms46 are normally held in lowered position ,as shown inv Fig. 1 by means` of bowed springs 49, one end of said springs being secured to the upper end of the upright 44 and the other ends of said spring secured to the arms 46 as atO and at points outside of the'pivotal points of the arms 46. Springs 49 normally hold the arms 46 in lowered position. However when the arm 36 moves downwardly incident to the rocking action ofthe lever 30 the end' 5l of a rockable lever 52is pulled downwardly by the link connection 53. When the end 51 of the lever 52 moves downwardly, the end 54 of said lever moves upwardly and as the end 54 is pivotally connected as at 55 to a rockable lever 56 carried bythe upright 44, it will be seen that the'ends 57 of the lever 56 will be forced downwardly' thereby causing a downward vmovement through the medium of theconnecting links 58 of the inwardly extending arm projections 59, thereby causing the arms 46 to rise Vafter they have been forced downwardly into pointing positionby the springs 49. Y

From the above it will be seen that an advertising device is provided, wherein a movable'scenic screen is constantly moved, and one wherein changeable display signs -are Y intermittently changed and attention attracted to the changing signs by pivoted arms, which arms and signs are operated from a single source of power, which source of power also operates the endless scene.

The invention having been set forth what` is claimed as new and useful is l. An advertising device comprising a longitudinally disposed endless scene, a back ground rising upwardly, a rotatable sign disposed behind said back ground and s adapted to be rotated for positioning various signs in registration with openings in the back ground, a horizontally disposed shaft disposed below the rotatable sign, means for intermittently'rotating said shaft, a figure disposed above the rotatable sign and pro-y vided with pivoted arms, andmeans whereby as the shaftis intermittently moved the rotatable sign will be intermittently moved in the direction ofthe sign openings in the back ground.

2. The combination with an'endless scene advertising device, of a rotatable sign intermittently rotated for displaying various signs, of means operated vby the operating mechanism'of the endless scene -device whereby the sign will Ybe intermittently rotated and a lfigure disposed adjacent the rotatable sign and provided with pivoted arms and Vmeans whereby the pivoted arms will be simultaneously moved incident to the rotation of the sign.

The-combination with an endless scene and the pivoted arms of the figure moved y advertising device, of a rotatable Vdisplay sign intermittently rotated, meansoperated by the operating mechanism of the endless scene forV intermittently rotating the sign, pivoted members pivoted at points above the sign,rand means whereby the pivoted members will be pivoted downwardly in the direction of the sign simultaneously with the intermittent rotation thereof.
