To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, l ALNDREW SEKULA, citizen of Poland, residing at Viashington, in the county of Washington and State of Pennsylvania, have invented, ceitain new and useful Improvements in rlfoy Guns, of which the following is a specification.

This invention relates to a toy gun and it has for an object to provide a novel type of toy gun'in which the bullet or missile is discharged from the gun by resilient means.

A further object istoprovide a novel device for simultaneously discharging or shooting a number of bullets or projectiles.

For further comprehension of the invention, and of the objects and advantages thereof, reference will be had to the following description and accompanying drawings, and to the appended claims in which the various novel features of the invention are more particularly set forth.

Figure 1 of the drawings is a perspective view, with parts broken away to show the interior construction, of a toy gun constructed according to the invention.

to receive opposite ends of a smaller tubeV 14, which extends longitudinally in the outer member and forms the barrel proper. With this construction the thick walls necessary to withstand the explosion in an ordinary gun or rifle are simulated, while an elongated bullet of the usual type such as indicated at 15 may be inserted in thelbore of tube. l y

For discharging the bullet from the tube 14, a plunger 16 is slidably mounted in the latter and is engaged at its rear end by an elastic band 17 secured to the rear end of the barrel 10. To permit of the use of ordinary elastic bands, and the ready replacement of the sameV in case of breakage, l preferably attach the same as follows: A transverse opening 18 is formed in the rear end of the plunger 16 while a pair of hooks 19 are fixed one Von each side of thebarrel 10. rlhe doubled band-is passed through the opening 18 and the ends thereof looped over the hooks 19. To enable the plunger toY be readily grasped to be retracted a cross arm 2O is xed to the rear end thereof, a transverse projecting pin 21 being provided adjacent the rear end, which engages the end piece 12 of the barrel to limit the forward movement of the plunger. The plunger may be held in retracted position by the hooked end 25 of a trigger 26 pivoted as at 27v in a slot 28 in the stock 11, this hooked end 25 engaging in a notch 29 in the plunger, into which it is urged -by a spring 30.

Referring to the arrangement for simultaneously discharging a number of the bullets 15, this comprises a disk 35 having a stud 36 projecting from one side thereof, the disk being ,of a diameter to fit freely in the outer barrel and the stud of a diameter to fit freely in the tube, the latter terminating short of the forward end ofthe barrel. The disk 35 and its stud 36 are inserted in the barrel 10 and tube 14 as shown in Fig. 3, and a cap 37 is placed on the end of the barrel 10, the iiange 38 of this cap having a bayonet slot 39 formed therein and engaged by a pin 40 on the barrel 1Y0 to hold the cap in place while permitting ready removal thereof as desired.

Formed in the cap 37 are a series of openings 41 which are surrounded by inwardly projecting fnges 42 forming guides for 100 the bullets, the latter being inserted in these openings 41 with their rear ends against the disk 35, a space being left between the inner ends of the flanges 42 and the disk. When the stud 36 is struck by the 105 plunger 16 the disk 35 is moved forward and discharges the bullets from the cap, the forward movement of the disk being arrested by the ianges 42.

When the above described multiple discharge device is not to be used it can readily be removed, the bullets being inserted directly into the tube 14.

Having thus described my invention what I claim as new and desire to protect byLetters Patent of the United States is as fllows y l. In a toy gun, a barrel presenting an enlarged chamber at its outer end, a magazine element removably iitted into said outer end, and a plunger device in the barrel presenting an enlarged disk at its forward end located in the said chamber.

3. In a toygun, a barrel presenting an enlarged chamber at its outer end, a magazine element removably fitted into said outer end, a plunger in said barrel, and an intermediate transmission member removably disposed in said barrel between the said plunger and magazine element.

In a toy gun, an outer barrel, an inner barrel terminating at its front endshort of the front end of the outer barrel, a cap adapted to fit on the end of said outer barrel and having a number of apertures adapted to each have a bullet therein; kand means disposed between said cap and said inner barrel for discharging said bullets simultaneously, said means including a disk, and a stud on said disk projecting into said inner barrel.
