A coil-spring 120 surrounding the eyelet 117 serves to return the oscillating member 112 and the cam-plunger 105 when the insertible device is unscrewed from the screwshell contact 83. One end 121 of this coilspring engages the oscillating member 112, and the other end 122 of the spring is held against movement by engagement with a portion of the insulating member 123. The quick-detachable contact means `87 for the I-slot 124 comprise a strip of sheet-metal bent to form two opposed spring contact lingers 125. These contacts are secured to a conductor-plate 126 by means of a rivet 127. The
conductor-plate 126 is electrically connected y with the binding-terminal 89 by means of a screw 128 threaded into the conductor-plate 126, a conductor-plate 129 through which the screw 128 extends, and the screw 96 which extends through an opening in the conductor-plate 129 and is threaded into the binding-terminal 89. The screw 128 serves to hold the conductor-plates 126 and 129 in position on the insulating member 123. The screw 96 assists in holding the insulating member 123 in position on the insulating member 94.
The contact means for the T-slot 130 comprise a strip of sheet material 131 bent to form two opposed spring contact fingers,
and a strip of sheet material 132 bent to form a contact finger lying in a plane substantially at right angles to the planes of the contact fingers 131, the contact' fingers 131 and 132 being secured to a conductingplate 133 by means of a rivet 134. The conducting-plate 133 is electrically connected with the binding-terminal 90 by means of a screw 135 threaded into the conductorplate 133, a conductor-plate 136 through which the screw 135 extends, and the screw 102 which extends through the plate 136 and is threaded into the bindm -terminal 90.

-Both the shell contact 83 and the center contact 84 are normally dead. When, however, an insertible connector device is screwed into the threaded shell 83, the switch mechanism 88 is actuated to electrically connect the center contact 84 with the bindingterminal 90, and the shell contact.83 with the binding-terminal 89. When the' insertible device is pressed inwardly on the'center contact 84 the cam-plunger 105 is'caused to slide in the frame 115. This reciprocation of the cam-plunger 105 causes a rotation of the member 112 due to the movement of the twisted part 119 of the cam-plunger through the slot in the member 112. As the oscillative member 112 rotates, it causes the leaf spring 110 to slide along the end of the arm 109 luntil the arm 109 is perpendicular to th leaf spring 110. A further movement of the oscillative member 112 causes the switch member 104 to snap, bringing the contact 113 between the contacts 98 and 101, and,
' from the shell contact 83. the spring 120 rotates the member 112, which forces the calnplunger 105 outwardly, due to the engagement of the twisted portion 119 with the member 112. As the member 112 oscillates, it causes the leaf spring 110 to slide along the end 'of the arm 109 until the arm 109 is perpendicular to the leaf spring 110, A further movement of the member 112 causes the switch member 104 to snap, moving the contact member 113 from between the contact members 98 and 101 and moving 'the contact member 114 out from between the contact members 91 and 95, thus disconnecting both the center and threaded-shell contacts from their respective binding-terminals. Due to this snap action, .the' contact is quickly made and broken, and the danger of arcing and burning the contacts is prevented.
We claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent of the United States:
1. An electric receptacle comprising center and threaded-shell contacts for engagement with the corresponding contacts of an insertible device, and a quick-break snap circuit-controller actuated by the insertin of the insertible device for controlling the receptacle circuit. y
2. A connector device having a movable contact engaged and moved by the contact of a coperating connector device, a quickbreak snap circuit-controller for controlling
